Suggestion and Update Thread

How does one link to a specific post now? like before you could click on the subject title, is that no longer a feature?

I have some permissions I should not be having. I can edit people's posts, delete them, and issue warnings to posters anywhere in the Off Topic section, maybe somehwere else too.

The power... is overwhelming!
Okay, that appears to be fixed.

I do Not care for it and my mind is Closed on the subject.

Seriously though:

1. On "my content" only my posts for one thread (fanart), plus whichever ones I've made since the change to the new software, appear.

2. Only one of my "foes" was transfered.

No enemies just a handful of gear grinders.
Can we retitle "foes" to "gear grinders"?

I am also in favor of something sans serif, and I wonder if anyone else likes the idea of white text on a dark background. One thing I really like about this format is the alerts system, though. Makes tracking posts and threads a lot more fluid.

EDIT: I'm particularly fond of a different color scheme because now it's hard to read the name of special yellow people like me.

The forum now has a really robust language and phrasing system, so I'll be CWCifying a few things over time.

Maybe. This style looks good, but the content designer didn't follow all the templating systems that the software has to offer. As a result modifying it isn't as easy and has to be done more manually. If I get any free time I'll try to darken things up.

If you do darken things up, can you keep a lighter theme as an option? I'm not a big fan of dark backgrounds with light text.

I didn't see this searching a few pages back (probably because it's not wholly worth mentioning), but if you're not logged in, the little "login/signup" tab shows up smack-dab in the middle of the tag lines at the top of the screen, pretty much making it impossible to read. Don't know if that's something on my end, though. Don't think it is.

I like how now enough characters are allowed for signatures that I can list more than just one of my favorite quotes. Also I can hyperlink the names of the members who wrote them. wow :null: good new feature.

I've updated the style to include a new wallpaper based off of gabmonteiro9389's Sonichu cover. It should also make the forum more dim.

Edit 1: I'm also updating the CSS for the mobile browser and for chat. If you're browsing mobile you should notice the sidebar under the main forum content is now fluid width and the content wrapper disappears entirely on smaller screens and mobile devices.

Edit 2: As a (probable) final change for tonight, I've edited the layout of the forum and dropped the Off-Topic subforums into the main General category. I'm always very divided on how this should be done.

I feel that the Off-Topic boards have a lot of room to grow. I'd like to see the community get bigger. It's a pretty close group and we have many active users, but the real truth is that a community centered to Chris has a lifespan and a limitation. I think by broadening the horizon a bit we'll attract more people, and we'll attract more people we actually want to hang around. This is one of the main reasons I wanted the Lolcow General board during the initial transition: it increases the scope of conversation.

However, I also feel that the subforums take up too much room and I'm going to be looking for a way to remedy that via design changes.

Edit 3: I have changed the subforums to only take up half the width of the element.

Edit 4: Undid that change. It looked perfect on 1920px resolutions but below 1800px it started looking fucked.
