So, us politics again, highlighting an insufficiency

I wonder how many people use the bookmark feature, and whether or not it could be leveraged into the highlighting system

So for example, leave the stickers as are, but say a post gets a bunch of bookmarks as well, could it be added to the highlight list?

The way I use bookmarks at least it tends to be higher quality stuff I bother to go to the effort to mark

I like the highlight system but I wonder if it could be tweaked. It seems counter-productive to me to have highlights on the last two or three pages of a thread.

Put another way: newer posts should be read and highlighting the "best" newest posts may lead to good posts being overlooked by highlight surfers.

What if posts were not eligible to be highlighted for 24 hours (to accommodate slow threads) or if on the last two pages (for faster threads), which ever comes first? This would give a larger breadth of new posts a chance to be seen and discussed.

Now that I think on it, it'd be nice to be able to follow people in a thread and have their posts be in the highlight chain.

No idea how much work that would be, but say Gehenna in is us politics, his posts are usually worth a read, and the posts he quotes are usually important enough to be worth a read, there's a couple other posters like that, in that thread and in others, including in the cow section.

But I don't necessarily want to follow all their posts on every thread, because there's people who are good im about one cow and retarded about another.

I agree with your point on the voting, it'd be a compromise of trust to do everything by IP, but the pink triangle really only means deviant behavior in my mind. Perhaps we need others for shills, people who are serially MATI, spammers etc.

A setting/option to disable animated avatars/pfp/whateverthefuckthey'recallednow would be great.

I use ublock to block them but it'll only do 1 per page.

Doesn't even need to stop them from loading, just load the first frame and stay there.

Am I retarded and blind or is there no way to merge your own consecutive posts in a thread or add quotes from your already posted reply? I feel silly when I double post because another post was made while I was writing mine.

If there is no way to merge your own double posts, it would be great to have. 🙏
