Super Smash Bros.

...So. What are your wishlists for the inevitable Smash Ultimate Turbo port to the next Nintendo console?
For me, in order of plausibility, it's:
  • EMMI (Metroid Dread)
  • Junko Enoshima
  • Bubsy
  • Gex
  • Tony Hawk
I'm firmly in the 'anything but anime camp':
  • Rayman
  • Sparkler
  • NES reps
  • Joe and Mac

Here, in no particular order:
  • Crash Bandicoot
  • Opa-Opa
  • Travis Touchdown
  • Another retro Namco rep, such as Mappy, Gil, or Valkyrie
  • Raiden (Mortal Kombat)
  • Rayman
  • Rabbid Peach
  • Impa (with her naginata from HW)
  • Gex
  • A Rhythm Heaven rep, probably Karate Joe or Marshall

Wubba wubba wubba that true??

EMMI (Metroid Dread)
Raven Beak (the Chozo warrior) from Dread is my first choice for Metroid rep, but EMMI isn't a bad option. I'd also like to see some Splatoon rep in the form of Octolings and DJ Octavio. They could easily make Octolings distinctive from Inklings by having the Octolings have attacks and Final Smash all be Splatoon 2 or 3 weapons, and keep the Inklings as is based on the first game.

And since Captain Toad got the honor of his own game, give him the honor of being a Smash character. I mean, why the hell not, I'd like to see him a lot more than Waluigi.

Smash updated, cleared everything in around 40 minutes. Roxas is a pain in the ass to fight, while the others are a breeze. It took me four tries to get that fucker and I used three of my mains (Wario, Byleth, Sephiroth), and I beat him with Ness of all characters. Apparently, you get healed over 120 HP if Blizzaga connects if you use PSI Magnet. Use that to your advantage.

"We're saving the Final Smash for when the character is released"

You saved it because it's garbage. It's your standard 'forward slash, everyone caught gets sucked into an explosion' Smash that sucks in Ultimate. On top of that, it's extremely boring. All the characters get sucked into a key hole portal to a door with the smash logo on it that closes. Sora points the keyblade at it with a beam of energy, turns to lock it and the door explodes.

Yeah, seeing that final smash in the full trailer made me go "what the fuck was the point of saying it's a surprise if the final smash was THAT damn forgettable?"

He had enough time in his moveset presentation to show it off. Talk about blue balling your viewers.

I can think of two things that would've been better.
1. Replace it with a limit like Session from 2 or using the combined Keyblade from Dream Drop (Trinity Limit is likely a no-go)
2. In lieu of the first idea, have the other Keyblade wielders show up in the FS (i.e. Riku, Aqua, Roxas, etc.) like in Min Min's and Hero's

I have to restate how much I despise 'tourism' stages like Hollow Bastion. It's obnoxious as fuck to play a match with an mp4 playing in the background.
It's not an mp4, but I know what you mean.

It would have so much cooler if the stage had us in the middle of level dodging it's obstacles as it transistioned to different sections of it like the 3D land stage.

Lots of the stages could have been more interesting. For instance, Garreg Mach is kinda boring. There's another stage from that game that'd have been more interesting and that's Gronder Field, where the 3 armies could be stage hazards and the central hill catches on fire if people stay on it for too long. Its also probably more iconic than the monastery.
I think they decided on less hectic stages after ones like Pyrosphere and Orbital Gate Assault were panned for being too wild. Which is also probably why the vertical scrollers and pokefloats didnt return

Pyrosphere worked really well... in Dead or Alive: Dimensions.

I'm the type of guys that loves the N64 stages and thinks that Pokemon Stadium is the single best stage in the game. I'm big on maps that are static as far as location, but have tricks to them to keep things fresh.

Disney worlds were off the table obviously, but I would've loved it if they instead went with Destiny Islands. You could have the map be normal but then later have the heartless start to invade.

calm down lol they showed it in the sakurai stream

Absolutely agree. Didn't have that much of a problem with them but I think Hollow Bastion just tipped it over the edge. Delfino and Wii Sports kind of get a pass because you actually fight in the stage but some of these are just EXTRA lazy. Sephiroth and Hero's stages in particular are absolutely egregious bottom of the barrel lazy trashheaps of stages.
You already have the entire Hollow Bastion modeled just have us fight somewhere on it
