Super Smash Bros.

>-The Power of Friendship-tier story and writing
That's the plot to like almost all the Sonic games, so it's not like KH started that whole trend.

First game on the PS2 is fine. It's a competent action/adventure game with RPG elements (barebones RPG mind you). Any new person can walk away satisfied after finishing it. It's the fact that Square Enix had to bust their nut all over it that made it so fucking convoluted. Now you have time traveling, alternate versions of the same character, and good villans (Malificent) taking a back seat to Xehanort # 238476862386823476.
That's all on Nomura he made the retard-tier story where your OC reincarnates in order to fuck Ventus up.

Seeing Sora end up in Smash is the best ending for a character than whatever Nomura is planning next for his patchwork story.

I don't know it's just a joke or not people keep thinking that if sora in smash bros Disney will buy Nintendo or it cost 10 BILLION dollars just to have the mickey keychain in sora's reveal trailer and also content creators would be assaulted with DMCA by both Nintendo and Disney become more often because sora is in smash

is it some kinda typical internet scare like coppa article 13 etc or is this a genuine concern?

Disney is power hungry and money hungry. Some of its a joke but its a real possibility.

Also the fact that Nintendo letting Universal do a Super Mario Movie and Universal Studios having Nintendo theme parks gives Disney a motive acquire Nintendo.

Ha.....Disney and Nintendo would hate fuck and then attempt to mutually kill one another but they're both so far up their own ass especially with the legal department.

Last time I checked Nintendo didn't buy out all and any company it can and completely abandon what it was good at in the process like disney has. In a sense it's kind of ironic seeing Disney turn out into the same kinda legal bullshit megacorp that Walt Disney created the company to not have to deal with. It's fucking incredible how within just 2 decades disney went from putting out Shit of either mediocre to good or even great quality to just "FUCK THAT BUY THINGS GET RIGHTS TO OTHER COMPANY SHUT DOWN OLD GUARD STUDIOS DMCA DMCA DMCA CREATE SOULLESS REMAKES CALL THE ORIGINAL RACIST" With how Disney litererally got away with Hijacking Stan Lee's personal social media accounts and try to make it seem like he's promoting their new products personally despite being literally fucking dead among other things I really cannot compare the fucking nightmare of a company that is modern Disney to Nintendo at all. Unlike Disney Nintendo will not fucking shut up about it's old content and products and history in a positive way and they're like the last company in existence aside from a multimedia giant like microsoft or Sony making actual dedicated gaming consoles. Of course, if Disney were to actually buy them out this would all change and Disney would shaft everything over to EA or some shit like what they did when they bought lucasfilm and literally shut down every fucking internal lucasfilm thing. They bought lucasfilm for star wars. They bought FOX for the rest of star wars and less competition. Disney is not only a soulless consoomer fueled machine, but it too must consoom, be it legal rights or money it will attempt to have exclusivity of all of it.

I agree. Nintendo should buy Song of the South from Disney.

Here's the difference: Disney, for all of their faults, DO make most of their old content available to easily stream. You can literally watch all of the canon movies from Snow White to (ugh) Raya & the Last Dragon. There's also a good amount of their animated/live-action TV shows on Disney+ (not that I have a D+ sub. I plunder them from the high seas because FUCK THE RAT). Nintendo? Fuck, their Switch Online service only NOW got N64 and Genesis games on there, and the Switch has been on the market for 4 years. Compare that to the Wii, which had NES, SNES, Genesis, TG-16, and N64 games day fucking one. Sure, Disney puts "WARNING! THIS MOVIE/PROGRAM MIGHT HURT YOUR FEE-FEES" warnings on some of them, which is retarded, but that's better than not having them on there at all.

TL;DR: you're right on everything except both companies' treatment of their old content.

Disney is evil and taking over the world, sure, but let's not forget that it's been losing to Pokemon in sales for quite a while now.

I don't think Disney has any prospects of even touching Nintendo for a while now. There'd have to be a massive crash in the gaming industry for something like that to happen.

When I said that Nintendo is the Disney of the gaming industry, I meant more in terms of surface-level stuff:
  • They're both the popular, family-friendly company of their respective mediums
  • They both have a fanbase of consoomers.
  • They both have a universally well-known mascot.
Stuff like that.

I don't count being available on a streaming service with a 15 second long warning as respect. Nintendo Prioritizes making new shit usually which is why there's not as many ports or releases of some shit. Hell , the new shit prioritization is what led to stupid fucking decisions like cancelling the original NES EARTHBOUND's release before it was ready to go due or not making an official translation of MOTHER 3 due to nebulous and stupid "shifting focus to the next console". Disney viewing the past with contempt isn't the same as Nintendo appreciating the past but being autistically dead set on moving forward. Nintendo's been concerning me the past few years with the whole handling of the switch having forced mobile phone or twitter account integration for some games for shit that previously only required you to have a Nintendo account, on top of the subscription service shit. the addition of other games is going to be part of some new "payment plan" thats probably gonna be a price bump to access the internet again till it becomes the same price as literally every other system. It's like sony Bumping up the price of their games to 70 or 80 dollars and claiming it's due to them being "faster" or some dumb shit.

Yeah that pretty much is an accute comparison when looking at shit from a face value. I'd even have that comparison if we were comparing Disney from before they went full buyout/no effort mode years ago.

Honestly I'm surprised Disney never sued SEGA at any point these past several years over Sonic being blatantly inspired by Mickey Mouse. It's like one of those common well known video game facts and yet Disney hasn't done a fucking thing to try and get money off that.

That's not how THE VAULT works.

Streaming is garbage because it makes it even easier to manipulate what you see and change history to accommodate modern tastes. These freaks are going back to edit 40 year old episodes of The Muppet Show. Curate a DVD collection instead; THE VAULT is worse now than ever before, it just isn't advertised.

Kermit for Smash.

Damn. You DO bring up a good point. Both Nintendo and Disney suck ass, just in different ways. *sigh*

...So. What are your wishlists for the inevitable Smash Ultimate Turbo port to the next Nintendo console?
For me, in order of plausibility, it's:
  • EMMI (Metroid Dread)
  • Junko Enoshima
  • Bubsy
  • Gex
  • Tony Hawk
