I am hilariously bad at Smash but the single player content is alright.

How long until neckbeards start crying P5 protag made it in (as dlc) but not their loli waifu Ashley?
Is anyone else having trouble with short hopping using the Switch controllers? Every time I hit the jump button, I feel like I'm only able to get it like half of the time.
I do have two complaints... loading times and input lag (especially on shields) are a little longer than I would like them to be.
That's because they changed shorthopping. It's not something you can achieve by quickly pushing the button anymore. Instead, you need to push the attack and jump button (along with directional input) at the same time to do your shorthop attack. They've also nerfed shorthopping a little so it does something like 3/4ths damage, just because of how little landing lag there is now.Is anyone else having trouble with short hopping using the Switch controllers? Bayonetta got nerfed hardcore in this game. Her combo game completely sucks now and her KO potential outside her smash attacks are trash. She got neutered hard, which imo is fine.Speaking of, how busted is Bayonetta in this? I’m going to play her regardless because her games are probably top 5 ever for me, but I’d be amazed if they didn’t tone her down. Might try Ken or Ryu too just because my understanding is that they have actual FG inputs, which might give me an edge over the autists and 12-year-olds that are inevitably going to infest the game.
Somshe’s dogshit or just in line with everyone else? How are Shulk and the Belmonts?Bayonetta got nerfed hardcore in this game. Her combo game completely sucks now and her KO potential outside her smash attacks are trash. She got neutered hard, which imo is fine.
Yeah, I was mainly talking about spirits in regards to the loading times, though its also an issue in classic mode. When the matches are all one to two minutes long having to spend such a proportionally high amount of the time not playing the game gets annoying. In multiplayer it's less of an issue because you'll be going for more like 8 to 15 at a time.I'm on the Switch Pro controller and I can't say I've had any problems.
This doesn't bug me so much; the loading times for swapping fighters/Spirit teams does somewhat for me though. I'm fucking spoiled.
Bayonetta is in line with everyone else. She is a bit tough to land good hits with, but she's so fast and impossible to edgeguard. It's less that she's a must-learn and now she's preferential.Somshe’s dogshit or just in line with everyone else? How are Shulk and the Belmonts?
Tbf sans being low weight makes some level of sense given he has 1 HP in Undertale and what with him being... Yknow a skeleton.I know it's a meme, but I do see a very good case for Sans to make the cut for DLC. Undertale/Deltarune are still very popular games, and he's easily one of the most iconic characters from a video game in recent years. His fighting style would be pretty easy to implement, being a mostly ranged fighter, and the whole "blue bone" mechanic (it only damages you if you're moving when it contacts, for those that don't know) could actually be very unique considering the meta of how people play Smash these days. It would make him OP, so my one caveat to that is he would have to have a lower weight class than even Jigglypuff, which works into the fact he only has 1 hp and def stats in Undertale.
Just a thought I had.

However I think Sans is still an unlikely pick given that Shovel Knight and Shantae being longer running and more renowned indie characters who also didn't make the cut. I also see a lot of the Smash Ultimate DLC roster (even for a potential second season) being bridge builders/promotions for upcoming games or deals (which is why I expect to see Travis, am not counting out Banjo (hello property rights purchase) and expecting to a see a "persona for switch" (both P5 and old titles) announcement by E3) that the Big Boys at Nintendo have planned. Cloud Bayo and Ryu basically opened the floodgates. Basically expect a lot of big fish for the DLC
You raise a very good point. I could definitely see Travis or Banjo making the cut, and maybe even Jack from Madworld (2nd Platinum Games rep, and the game was given decent critical acclaim, I thought Madworld was awful, especially compared to Anarchy Reigns). Hell, at this point I wouldn't be surprised if Minecraft Steve or Master Chief made it in.
My suspicion is that they will all be from Japanese companies, maybe someone from Ubi but I doubt it.
