Super Smash Bros.

With the 3DS version coming out soon, we should be getting some information about the Wii U version soon.

Here's to hoping that Tower of Smash is a real thing.

I'm really glad that they have so many Fire Emblem characters, but my younger brother and his friends are pissed about it for some reason. He wanted more Mother/Earthbound characters, and while I did too, I told him that wasn't likely to happen. I also can't wait to play as Pac Man! I seem to be the only one among my friends who plays Pac Man on a constant basis, and I'm so glad they didn't use the new TV Show (Ghostly Adventures or something?) design.

I don't know, Fire Emblem is ridiculously unimportant to Nintendo in the grand scheme of things. Ike and Marth coming back, great. Awakening was the best selling FE ever, (combined, all FE have sold... 4 Million copies. And Awakening was a whopping 1 million of them) so I am cool with Robin getting in. Lucina is too much for me though I'm sorry, especially sorry to @ASoulMan but seriously your waifu a shit and like the rest of Awakening was poorly written and boring. You can challenge me over this but Little Mac and me will beat the shit out of your Marth clone :^ )

Joking aside I have no problems with clones, but Lucina was just stupid to me. They should have given a different series a newcomer clone, not FE which was already getting a completely new character in the form of Robin. Make F-Zero's Black Shadow a bulkier Falcon clone, make Dark Samus not a fucking assist trophy, make Paula a Ness clone, just do SOMETHING to round out the roster. Clones take like 3 days to make and instead of a series that gets no Smash love Sakurai just masturbates to his favorite series and makes Dark Pit and Lucina. *sigh*

I will be honest, in terms of clone characters (well, I guess he wasn't entirely a clone character) I would've preferred Lucas remaining in the game over Lucina, but that's just me. I do see why they picked Lucina though, she seems to be very popular within the fanbase. I hope that a future Smash game has a full on Mage from a Fire Emblem game, I think that would be interesting to see/play as.

Metroid sperg and big fan of the Prime trilogy over here. I would've fucking LOVED to have seen Dark Samus as a full fledged character. I'd have liked to have seen Ridley too. Fuck everyone that says Ridley is "too big". Kirby, Meta-Knight, King Dedede, and Captain Olimar are tiny in their own games. Bowser is usually a bit bigger then he is in Smash Bros. It's not excuse for them to not make Ridley Bowser-sized. But unfortunately Nintendo seems to have something against Metroid.

Why people don't want Ridley in a Smash Bros. game will always escape me. People just don't want him in for some reason.

Sakurai doesn't do things for the fans though. He includes them because he likes them.

Unless there is a big new FE before the next one, I really don't want anymore reps from them- and I LIKE FE. It's just shitty that for what is described as the greatest character fighting game there is such blatant favoritism at work. I could name legions of series that need new reps compared to FE. Donkey Kong has sold 56 million copies and has two reps. Fire Emblem has sold 4 million copies, and has 4 reps, 5 counting Roy. Not sure why you want a Mage though, Robin is one. Yeah he has a sword but its Smash. That just seems redundant since he'd play a lot like Robin.

One fucking biased man should NOT be in charge of the roster.

It's Sakurai. Nintendo loves Metroid and Miyamoto said he's already planning its future in an interview this year. Specially, he likes the Prime games more than the 2D ones and hinted he wants to see more of them.

Yeah I don't see why having Ridley is such a big issue to some people. Like yeah I guess in some games he's kinda big, but they put bowser in when in a lot of games he's like 5 times the size he is in smash. And besides, they could just make him the size he was in the first metroid. He was only a little bit bigger than samus in that one.

Which is why I'd like Ridley to be in as playable so that we can put down the silly arguments once and for all.
 
Speaking of all this Ridley talk, I stumbled across something incredible that a modder made just recently.

Holy shit is that detailed and cool looking.

I also have some cool 'proof' that may convince you guys Ridley may be playable in SSB4 after all, if anyone is interested in seeing.

Also, who all is going to the midnight release? I and a few friends are, then one friend is staying over at my place after and all of Friday so we will be unlocking every character in like, a day through 1v1 1 stock matches.

I can still find time to take on any challengers here, though~
 
I was going to the midnight release, but I have nobody to get me to the Gamestop closest to me.

I'm still getting it on release though.

So the ten minutes I got to play this morning was fun. Hope it will still be fun when I get home.
 
Tempted to splurge and buy it now instead of waiting until December, but my productivity is already at an all-time low...

Well, I've played the game for about a total of 10 hours now, and I've unlocked every stage and every character except R.O.B. I think I can safely say that this is (at least so far) my favorite game in the Smash series. It is amazing how much content they've packed into this games, especially considering how it is on a portable console. Since I grew up playing on Game Boy Color it blows my mind that I can now play Smash on a portable console. I do have a minor gripe though, and it is more a hardware limitation and personal preference thing. I am used to using the c-stick on the Gamecube controller to do Smash attacks, so while it isn't the development teams fault that the 3DS doesn't have another control stick, it has still been a pain to adjust to doing Smash attacks with the stick+A.
