I'm considering supporting the forum with crypto-currency (BitCoin in particular) but my understanding is that BitCoin transactions are actually traceable and could potentially end up doxing me,IIRC some left-wing journo-scum managed to back-trace BTC donations to both Anderw Anglin (Daily Stormer) and Nick Fuentes (notably back to a chronically ill French sympathizer who donated a large sum of BTC before killing himself),could somone who is more crypto-savvy give an explanation (intended for a layman) about the traceability of crypto-transfers or am I just being paranoid?

Purchase any crypto(preferably BTC or LTC) and anonymously exchange it to XMR on sites such as https://trocador.app/en/, https://fixedfloat.com/(sum more https://kycnot.me/).
You will receive "untrackable" XMR which you can spend/donate on whatever you want, and neither the exchange nor exchanger will know where you spent it.

Nearly all crypto projects have completely public ledgers, meaning all wallets have public balances and all transactions are easily traceable with public amounts. On top of that, many coins are non-fungible, which can lead to individual coins being the target of sanctions. When people say Bitcoin is private, they're either woefully misinformed or knowingly spewing bullshit.

There are some projects that have elements of privacy, such as Dash and (rhymes with) FedCash. The main issue with those is that the privacy is basically opt-in, which means most users who don't give a fuck/know better leave their transactions public. There's a very optimistic Chainalysis article (archive.is)—no javascript required nor recommended for reading—with this issue as its main selling point.

Dash, as far as I know, uses coinjoin stuff like the Bitcoin privacy wallets, e.g. Samourai, use. I haven't looked much into coinjoin stuff, but there's a paper (attached below) from late 2021 which claims to demonstrate ways to detect on-chain coinjoins. This implies such detected transactions could also be the target of similar sanctions.

So what can we do about this? The answer is Monero (XMR). It is a private by default currency that is closest in function and anonymity to physical cash. Its transaction fees are relatively low, and transaction speed with lowest fee amounts is typically much faster than Bitcoin.

It uses a lot of fancy math to mask the outputs, both wallet address and amount, of transactions and amounts in wallets. Only the sender and receiver will know the amounts transacted and the corresponding transaction IDs. The Cake Wallet guys have a nice explorer which demonstrates these core features quite nicely. If you want to know more about the technicals, I would be happy to put my lengthy background in cryptography to good use. There are plenty of other excellent features and ideas that make this project quite exciting, which I won't get into here.

You'll notice that the bottom of the page here has an XMR address, which I suggest using. You can use one of the many non-KYC exchanges or aggregators like Trocador to get some XMR reasonably anonymously. I strongly recommend generating a subaddress, which starts with an 8, for receiving transactions to aid in anonymity. Primary addresses, like the one below, start with a 4. Any address reuse for different identities, purposes, or exchanges could leave a trail, since you have to give the other parties an address to send to in the first place.

If you want T&H, including the transaction ID in your PM is sufficient. There are more in-depth ways to prove transactions, but this is usually enough.

For sites that don't accept XMR for payments, these exchanges can act as a middle-man where you can send XMR and have the exchange's wallets output the desired amount of BTC/whatever.

P.S. Never use centralized exchanges to send currencies. For example, I remember reading that donating to this site through Coinbase can get you in some hot water.

You almost have to be a retard for this to happen though. Never reuse an address for sending. Never use an address actually associated with your name. NEVER NEVER NEVER use an exchange like Coinbase that is attached to the banking system with Know Your Customer/Anti-Money Laundering shit.

And if you're exceptionally paranoid, use your Bitcoin to buy something like Monero that is specifically privacy-oriented.

Bitcoin is not. Bitcoin is all about verification and continuity. For some reason, the Lügenpresse really pushed the so-called anonymity of Bitcoin as some way of making it look scary and crime associated, even though it's possibly the least anonymous form of currency transfer imaginable. Paper money is way above it as far as anonymity goes. You can easily find out where any bit of Bitcoin came from, where it's been, and where it goes.

The ledgers are all public.

The anonymity you have to do yourself. Do not recycle addresses, unless that is no big issue to you.

For actual anonymity, do Monero.

You're still dreaming that if you use a bank account at the start or end that the 'middle obfuscated zone' doesn't mean those first and last ones aren't recorded.

If there were cash deposits directly to Monero, they'd have your face on camera most likely and track you too. Yeah, take some precautions. But don't bet the farm that you'll be anon, on anything, ever. In the end if you're caught donating to KF what's the worst that can happen? I guess pretty bad, but that's the game.

ETA, is it worth it to track a supporter down? Track down all the blockchain? Even for the feds? I doubt it to the extreme. I doubt anyone would bother you if paypal would just accept it.
