"Kool Kama Cuts the Gaijin" is my new favourite film.

The funny thing was that ancient Japan could never manufacture a lot of well-fashioned blades because not only would a high quality katana be a very cost-ineffective weapon(much like a golden AK-47), Japan also didn't have the means to obtain materials required for making these katanas(e.g iron ore, coal) before international free trade happened. The original Japanese katana was what many smiths improvised over the years to make up for the shortcomings of not enough raw material.

There is historic and artistic value in antique katanas but to use them in real life for practical purposes is as ridiculous as using an ancient cannon in a museum. The modern world of weaponry has evolved over time, and there are tons of knives better than a katana you can purchase. I just love to see how all these katana spergs brag about how a katana has to be produced by hand and not mass produced, the processes it has to go through to qualify as a real katana when I can buy a mass-produced kitchen knife in Wal-Mart and it will serve just as well as your katana in cutting vegetables and meat, because face it, the only things you're gonna cut with your katana are probably inanimate objects for target practice, and how common it is that you actually need a katana for self defense when you have something called a gun?

Where's the authentic Kenshin Himura(TM) face scars?

These people all think they'll be Genji and capable of deflecting bullets.

More likely they'll stab themselves, but, dreams.

I've got a friend with a sword and katana obsession. He's got seven, at last count, all different lengths and craftsmanship. Spent absurd amounts of money on them, to a point that he lost his phone, internet, and his house because the swords took priority over making payments. Then he comes to me and asks for money to buy groceries. The sword obsessive culture is ridiculous. Historical interest is one thing. But sword fapping? Not so much.

Imagine if you will.
On a dark night you are on your way back to your mom's house after making a doritos run when you spy a fucking CHAD harassing a 9/10 nubile young female.
"Step away," you belch as you reach behind your shoulder towards the hilt of your sword "we don't want things to get... ugly."
Chad runs away like the coward he is. A light rain begins and you unfurel your umbrella to sheild her from the elements.
"Shall I walk you home, m'lady?"
She immediately pledges her love and virginity to you.

Seriously, who buys these?
