Anyway since I necro'd this thread and since I kinda like following HEMA (Historic European Martial Arts) and historic weapon analysis dudes on youtube, i thought I'd mention some drama that broke out last year between two youtubers that do sword content, I think the drama and rivalry still goes on to this day, none will care but I'm stuck in a train so i might as well kill some time writing this shit
Let me first introduce the participants:
One the one side is
shadiversity, he is an Australian Mormon, he used to do sword specific stuff and now he does more complex higher production "testing X thing" videos, I don't watch that person these-days but I first subscribed to him when metatron threw him a bone and collab'd with him 5+ years ago when he was under 100k subs begging people for views so he can take care of his ill partner, now he surpassed 1 million and even though he still cries about low engagement, he is not going anywhere anytime soon.
Over the years he revealed his right wing power levels and collabed with guys like Sargoy of Cuckkad
On the other side is
Scholagladiatoria (Matt Easton) he is an antique dealer, HEMA instructor and champion, historian with an actual University degree, he basically collects, restores and resells swords, on his spare time he makes youtube videos and consults movie directors on period weapons and armor, he used to be some sort of UK Gov bureaucrat for most of his adult life previously.
His youtube videos consist of him standing Infront of a camera and endlessly yap his mouth about whatever sword or mele weapon he is holding giving out factoids only autistic spergs like me can appreciate, Despite his videos being so dull I particularly like his content because its a nice background noise and he is actually the most knowledgeable person on youtube in the matters of history of mele weapons, despite him having a head-start compared to shadiversity, the scholagladiotoria channel only has 1/3 of the subcount and a fraction of the engagement shad has.
The drama:
Before going deeper i want to mention that this Sword/European History Youtube sektur is a very distinguished one, its a very old and established youtube genre, guys like metatron, the two guys mentioned here, skallagrim etc all have loyal followings, the youtubers involved all used to be friends and were doing collabs together.
Those guys basically came together about the same time the Ethan Ralph/ Internet blood sports sektur was created, those guys even had their Own Knoxville group photo that was just as cringe as the original gunt photo.

In the case of the two dudes mentioned here they were good friends that did lots of collabs over the years, but from what I understand after the summer of love of 2020 Shadiversity's fanbase was rapidly radicalizing and started being more outwardly rightwing, this was reciprocated and nurtured by Shadiversity, him being a mormon and stuff,
Anyway shad's audience kinda pushed for drama with other youtuber's audience and were generally really aggressive, this led to some mundane disagreements over 3 years ago involving absurdly nerdy things such as "the HEMA regulation involving Danish axes" Matt easton kinda won those and the two creators remained friends, though this was only a prelude to what would come up last year.
Out of the blue, last September Matt Easton made a whole facebook sperg post about disavowing shad over him being mean to lgbts and minorities and being a bigot:
Typical culture war SJW things basically, shadiversity then did a response video that was kinda muted and conciliatory, thats as far as the hostilities went because shad did the cowardly thing to not fire back full force, it was the correct choice for him moneywise though because Matt controls the HEMA sektur and its Flesh-space and everyone treats him as the shadow king, (think metokur)
But shad being a bitch did not work for him in the end, reddit tier libtards went after him and got him banned from various places and attempted to boycott his channel, now the saddest part of it is that guys that are known to be anti-SJW like the Metatron bitched out and did not take any sides on the argument,
Expanding on the metatron thing, he is a good representation of what happens when Leftist propaganda starts corrupting everything, he was known to be very anti-woke, he would often refute the blackwashing of historical characters and civilizations like when netflix made roman legionnaires black or whatever, but he now toned down his rhetoric so much that he basically attempts appease and not offend either side of political argument, he did exactly that over the recent discourse about the "Black samurai" from Ubisoft's assassin creed, he basically defended the possibility for yasuke to be a samurai and the main thing he opposed was minor historical inaccuracies like ubisoft not mentioning the jesuit order that was responsible of bringing him to japan, metatron also completely ignored and did not step on the female samurai thing, this is not just metatron there's tons of those dudes that basically do nothing but deceive their audience and give ground in this metapolitical war.
It may sound like a hyperbole but this have been somewhat different if other creators backed up shad when he got attacked by Matt Easton.
Anyway, I feel like schola gladiatoria is the biggest hypocrite there is, this wanker will basically make videos crying and attempts to start petitions to fight against UK anti-knife regulations, every year uk expands its knife control and and it fucks up his business as a sword guy, his swords and weapons he does reviews on or he buys basically get held on customs all the time and stuff, and you would expect a guy like that to be for the very least a conservative or what not, but no, he is a radical SJW, its really true what they say about uk bureaucrats being the most libtarded humans on earth, truly rotten to the core.
Honestly this sektur would be so much fun if the guys involved were younger and more active into livestreaming and stuff, we could see actual weaponized fights and sword dueling to settle feuds.
