Everyone is dunking on the image; I've seen maybe four accounts that pointed out what it was actually there for -- links are now commonly placed in first replies to whatever is meant to get eyeballs on the post, as the algorithm currently buries posts with links, for reasons nobody quite understands.

They also posted this like a day after those stories broke that trans/enby identification on college campuses had just cratered. I can't prove it, but I have a feeling that's what inspired dredging up this loathsome image and this sudden burst of charity for Trans Lifeline.

We've already beat the gay beholder to death (the party gains 14000 XP), but I thought this link was notable for two things:
  1. Pre-Hasbro WotC was a swinging sex party, per this archived article from 2001 on Salon: https://archive.ph/vIEsE , providing another point for "nerds have always been horny and degenerate"
  2. In their section about "have you tried not playing D&D?", they mention an upcoming Barsoom RPG which might be of interest to some of the regulars here.

Apparently GW has removed male pronouns from some of the Space Marine fluff. Same thing they did at the very start of the FemStodes (who are not canon) push, IIRC. Changing him from the "Emperor of Mankind" to the "Emperor of Humanity" and changing all references to Space Marines to be... "they."


There's a new Space Marine rulebook (cause we can't have a full edition go by without TWO marine codexes, otherwise you wouldn't realize they're more important than the rest of the range combined) coming and there's a hint that they're going to drop or stealth drop (a-la FemStodes) Female Marines there.

There's also a rumor that those oddly feminine heads from that sprue were just accidentally released / leaked too early, before the new Codex with the new Female Space Marines.

I can't imagine they'd be stupid enough to do this, but they are majority-minority owned by Blackrock and Vanguard now, so, it's on brand with those subversive fucks.

But why do it now and not at the peak of wokism? It's too late for getting tons of journo praise and Blackrock millions. Blackrock has long gotten rid of diversity reports.

I honestly cant see those faces as mangled fem-marine sculpts and more their attempts to sculpt bad asian faces after Space Marine 2 had the squadmate with the zoomer haircut (to be fair him and the black guy were fine as characters) especially since the Titus model looked wierd, the preview paint looks like a 5 o clock shadow

It’s a fucking long quote with a lot of long and extraneous text. They changed steely sinew to steel sinew as well, yet no one is shitting themselves over that. About the only thing I’d complain is the change from Mankind to Humanity but common parlance views mankind as referring to men rather than humans.

I’d stop listening to grifters who never played a game in-person and instead enjoy the hobby with your local community.

A year ago it looked like a neat painting project that might also be fun to play at some point. I'd always heard good things about Mordheim and was excited to try something that promised to be a lot like it. Now I have plenty of other stuff to work on and I'm just watching the sideshow unfold in their Kickstarter updates and comments. I'll probably never play a game and they certainly won't be getting another dime from me.
 
So big thing I’m wondering and I know it’s been hammered to death is the possibility of female space marines. On one hand I think in 2020 to 2023/4 ish it was practically guaranteed that they were at least somewhere in the pipeline because every other company was bending over for the woke mob during that time. Now however I feel as if the winds have truly changed at least in the mainstream sphere which gw still desperately wants to cash in on. And gw isn’t a company that is immune from failure either, they apparently did almost go bust in the last 10-15 years, and I am sure that if they introduced female marines that would almost certainly cause enough damage to where closing shop is at least a possibility. So really in my view it boils down to whether or not gw views activism as more important than staying in business. It’s the rare case where I actually hope they are the greedy assholes that value money above all.

The thing is that it has been 8 years since the Primaris were released. GW could have added female space marines then as they were effectively rebooting the space marines. They didn’t. Stormcast had female sculpts added 3 years after they initially released, having already established in lore that female Stormcast existed.

Every single piece of lore for the space marines for over 40 years have stated that they are male, compared to the recently developed Custodes, which became an army 9 years ago. And we know from ADB that he wanted the Custodes to be male and female, but the models were all male.

I’m just sick of the fucking paranoia surrounding the female space marine shit. Every little change being an obvious sign that the woke have destroyed Warhammer. If GW is dumb enough to court that controversy, they will just come out and say it in the lore and/or with models. Modifying a quote wouldn’t be the signal.

I generally agree with you but at the same time GM made 40k adventures, a children's book series in 40k. I think they're dumb enough to do anything to get the "wider audience," especially given they're a publicly traded company and commonality with generally fucking up the property is having shareholders .

Their kits are 12+ and even FW shit is only 15+ ain't it? I feel like advertising to children is not too far
