So they have time to feature Tabletop titan's new Trench Crusade Campaign and new Prussian models but they don't have time to release their rulebook? The people need to get their priority straight.

So Tabletop titan is doing a Trench Crusade call Heretic Coast: the seven wake. I guess it's about Black Grail forces fighting against the Stoßtruppen of the Free State of Prussia on titular Heretic Coast.

If they don't have their own shit ready to go, that doesn't have anything to do with them featuring someone else's stuff. It's basically just a blog post, tabletop titans posted the videos and is doing all of the work while the TC people wait for books to get beat up and shipped from the distributor.

I'm all for shitting on companies doing dumb stuff, but it needs to at least make sense.

I'll give you some free advice. Don't give these people single cent. I worked on TTRPG. So the better part of five and a half years I've never met. More vindictive backstabbing jackasses on the face of the planet. At one point I did tell our head guy to stop changing the walls every fucking week 'cause people kept complaining to me.

Just as a contrast: earlier this year I backed a different campaign for the new edition of a TTRPG I was interested in. That company had done this before and had their shit together. They kept their backers updated, were up-front about delays and production issues, paid attention to the feedback from the beta release of the rules, and delivered their product in a reasonable time frame that was more or less what they'd quoted at the outset. Everything I ordered showed up all together and in excellent condition, and before I'd gotten my TC models. That company has earned my trust as a consumer and I'll happily support their future releases. Compared to them, TC can eat shit.
No one should ever give money to kickstarters. But when you do, look at what the team behind it have put out previously.
If no one on the team has shipped product before, stay the fuck away.

And I don't just mean "used to work at Blizzard" or some shit. I mean someone on the leadership of the team was like a Project Manager For Gamesworkshop or something - someone who has ACTUALLY shipped a project and knows what is coming down the pipe.
Chris Roberts, the Star Shitizen guy, had worked on videogames for like 30 years, but was always a "Programmer" or "Creative". I very nearly Kickstarted that game until I did some digging on Roberts and then noped the fuck out.

Also if a project goes over triple its funding, cancel your pledge. It will be cheaper and less stressful to either buy someone else's wholly intact shipment from Ebay, wait till it hits retail, or buy the overstock. Because scope creep will utterly fuck the project.

"But muh EARLY ADOPTER".
I just want to point out in Trench Crusade's case how utterly retarded that argument is.
You want to give the Frostgrave guys $400 so you get early access to the S&M Elves faction, ok. Presumably you already play the game and have people to play with, and you can plop down your BDSM Elves and be King Shit lording over the normies for 8 months until the store gets their retail boxes.
But no one is playing Trench Crusade becasue its never been released. There is no Trench Crusade leagues or tourneys. All getting your minis early means is you get a 6 month head start on everyone else when it comes to Not Painting Your Minis.
You are signing up to evangelize a game THAT DOESN'T EVEN EXIST, hope its good, and hope you can get more than one other person to play.
GamesWorkshop is the 8-million pound gorilla of the wargame space and even if you bring your extra armies (because every GW cuck has at least 2 and usually 3) you can't always find another GW player.

The book is now a glorified artbook, which is what it should have been from the start considering their decision to have the rules be a free, living document.
No one understands what Errata is for anymore.

wtf? That makes no sense, their rules team have an entire fucking campaign system and possible expansion factions to write. I was referring to a 1.1, and they did a 1.01? That's the opposite of making sure that the updates are meaningful and substantial. Wanting to make sure you're playing the same version of the game doesn't necessarily have anything to do with being a sweaty try-hard if all you want to do is just make sure you're all using the same fucking rules. Who the hell wants to be playing 1.0 of a game vs 10 versions later at 1.3.12 or whatever unless it's the old 1.0 having some broken shit that gives an advantage?
See making rules requires playtesting and boring stuff. They just want to put out more edgelord art and write about how Islam is the only protection against evil or w/t/f ever.
Probably sucking off trannies as well.

From what I can gather, they let their game be in playable beta for quite some time and the fanbase rules lawyered and broke it in some ways, found genuine oversights in others, factions were janky.
I might be off base, but the current state of the internet seems to end up giving a lot of leeway to retarded rules churns and tweaks, its happened to 40k, to OPR, I've heard Warcrow got hit with that too. Etc. So TC thought they could get away with it, even though their LARP of being a totally reel published game necisitated a hefty printed book, where atleast some games admit to being PDF first and foremost. They should've just sold worldbooks with no rules and just told the fanbase to print them at the risk of constant update, but they seemingly can't do shit right
The fact retards gave them this much money for a game that didn't exist is just lol.

This half makes me want to introduce David Wood to Trench Crusade just to see what that psychopath would do to the game (but the guy has better things to do with his time).

Interesting bit of autsim i dug up from a general sperg, looks like Troon Crusade has been copyright striking random releases that directly use it as its keywords without permissions too, possibly with a copyright bot
Hi all! I’m hoping to get some perspective from people who are actually part of the Trench Crusade community.

I’m not currently a TC player. I run a small miniature 3D printing business, and I’ve been following TC from the outside because a lot of sculptors and creators I work with have moved toward making TC-compatible minis.

From the outside looking in, this is what it appears to be happening—and I want to stress that this is not an accusation.

What it looks like from the outside:

It seems like Factory Fortress built a fairly friendly relationship with the 3D printing community early on, to the point where many Patreons/Tribes started producing TC-compatible models.

Recently, though, I’ve seen reports of automated IP takedowns hitting listings and even hashtags referencing “Trench Crusade,” including some models creators believed were previously approved or clearly meant as compatibility rather than direct copies. I actually had a listing of an aforementioned approved model removed myself.

At the same time, I’ve also seen statements suggesting future official kits will be plastic-only. Taken together, it feels like a sudden shift away from the 3D printing space that helped support the game early on.

What I might be missing:

I fully recognize that I may be misunderstanding things because I’m not embedded in the community. I don’t know:

• What was communicated behind the scenes

• What players were told vs what creators were told

• Or how widely supported these changes actually are among TC players

Questions for the community:

• Was the move toward plastic-only production always the plan as communicated to backers?

• Were creators clearly warned that “Trench Crusade” terminology would no longer be acceptable even for compatibility?

• Is this enforcement push generally supported by the player base?

• Or am I misreading this because I’m viewing it through a creator/business lens rather than a player lens?

I ask because I bounced off Warhammer years ago specifically due to GW’s business model and IP posture, and I’d hate to invest time and enthusiasm into another ecosystem heading in that direction if that’s what’s happening here.

If anyone with more context could help clarify what’s actually going on, I’d really appreciate it. I’m trying to figure out whether this is a misunderstanding from the outside, growing pains, or a genuine red flag.

TL;DR: From the outside, TC looks like it built goodwill with the 3D printing community and is now pulling back via IP enforcement and a plastic-only shift. I’m asking whether that perception is accurate or missing key context from within the community.
I saw in the comments that this "BTB" studio got the axe, and it looks like this "BTB" was "Bite The Bullet" a Spanish 3D design husband/wife team who had some issues with Factory Fortress back in June, where their medic and mechanized infantry models were found too similar to the TC designs and they got a slap on the wrist for doing them.
The Patreon post details that they sent over designs and got an OK, only to realize that they didnt and they had to remove them from sale on My Mini Factory, a popular 3d print file selling site
their MMF post contains the full collection besides the mechanized infantry and a redesigned medic
However, their own website still sells the STL files for both the basic medic and mechanized infantry
Middle is the OG combat medic, first is TC's OG design, and the last one is the redesign

The First two are BTB's and the last is TC's

Its utterly fascinating how quickly they fuck up, they cant really get too much goodwill at all

Ooh, that's really gonna piss off the printer crowd. They were already upset about the move to plastic; if TC actually is clamping down on proxies and alternate model designs that's probably going to cost them whatever goodwill they had left in that community.

No, it's only the evil GW that's supposed to do this! lol

The cope about it just being "logistic issues", not updating their license after basically telling everyone to go fuck themselves(it's still "coming soon"), it must all be a mistake while trying to keep out the racists, yeah that's it!
They made a post about third-party licensing on Kickstarter. The "community license" section on their website still says "coming soon," so it's probably safe to assume these terms apply until further notice.

Source: Kickstarter https://share.google/vrFgE2CB78d6YYVlX

It looks like the only stipulation for selling content marketed as "compatible with Trench Crusade" is to send it to them for approval to make sure it meets their community guidelines. I assume that's to keep out racists, or the IRL "Deus vult" types.

What the fuck does changing the terms of your license, issuing takedowns to resellers, or anything like that have to fucking do with racists or "IRL deus vult types"? Oh wait, not a damned thing. These people just cannot accept that the glorified art project they backed is fucking up and it isn't just "growing pains".

low hanging TC post
the compniggers at goon41%hammer are doing a faggy comp ruleset for it at Adepticon with blessings from the official Factory Fortress staff

Comp slop for your astroturfed edgy wargame is on the menu, 40kcompniggers! Please invest in our slop!

Did they forget their slopgame is meant to be played in... Trenches?

Low hanging reddit retardation i found amusing, some autist posted a substack spiel on how dungeons in TTRPGs are inherently colonialist because combat is the funnest thing to do in the mainstream ones, and looting shit from dungeons is le bad (not really, but the author really huffs his own farts while shilling some random literal who RPGs)

substack archive

The interesting thing is that even for reddit, it has 0 points and 100+ comments, and alot of the comments are calling the author a fart huffing cuck, which is amusing, even for reddit standards

Whoa there, chud. Are you implying that the vaguely Lawful Good human townsfolk that have things like art, infrastructure, legislative systems, and communal responsibility are somehow more noble and deserving of the mountains of stolen gold in that ancient ruin than the anarchistic, demon-worshipping, cannibalistic greenskin slavers and pillagers that are currently squatting within it? Wow, just wow.

These are not just people who go to a general RPG forum like RPGNet or r/rpg to bitch about Dad D&D, they are people who specifically fag up communities dedicated to playing the classic versions of D&D, then demand you accept their insane framing of D&D or else you are a bigot. It's a fucking plague. There was something really wholesome about old D&D communities reviving the old ways of playing, but these assholes turned up all the same and made them about me me me me me me me me. The OSR is deeply infested with this rot, and IDK if it can even be salvaged.

Yeah, this is a targeted op. Remember OSR is where the "chuds" fled to after the flag bearing faggots laid claim to tabletop and announced if you didn't clap like a trained seal at the idea of a dude suckin' dick or wearing a stunnin' and brave dress you aren't a heckin' real gamerino. They've wanted to fuck with them for years, and it doesn't surprise me at all to find them trying to worm their way into that community to "fix" it in the same way they tried to "fix" every other tabletop space.

Small update to this, a my mini factory creator (marketplace for 3d printing designs) alleges that the company "BrandShield" (on a cursory google, a company that apparently GW has used in the past) is the one used by Factory Fortress inc to do the takedowns, and they report that etsy sellers who had been selling their designs have been hit by automated takedowns

The post alleges that the following terms are getting the AI copyright axe

- Trench Crusade

- Trench Crusade Compatible

- Compatible with Trench Crusade

- Full faction or unit names (New Antioch, Black Grail, Heretic Legion)

- Avoid designs or sculpts that are VERY similar to original sculpts or art done by Factory Fortress.

He advises people to instead use the following copyright friendly terms to avoid being shoah-ed by bot
- Trench War
- Trench War Compatible
- Compatible with Trench War
- Antioch, Black Chalice, Heretic (Antioch and Heretic should NOT be copyrightable, but I cannot promise they won't get attacked)

Small indie studio pls understand forces retards to go full GW copyright cuckery, instead of being able to sell your retarded sculpts as trench pilgrim you now have to go "trench preacher compatible with foxhole jihad" unless you send them an e-mail that still has a chance of them gutting your work if they deem it not kosher enough
What a fun shitshow, the usage of BrandShield alone is making them lose some of their woke izzat because its a company that uses the vile enemy of AI and worked for GW in the past, although, to be slightly fair, their licensing requirements always listed that sellers always needed a retarded A-OK from Factory Fortress if they made shit for profit, so the etsy sellers are being hasty and jumping the gun, its not quite a rugpull, but its very clear that they have a really retarded way of setting up permissions and enforcing their IP takedowns
