Tabletop Roleplaying Games (D&D, Pathfinder, CoC, ETC.)

The sad part is that people are taking this seriously, despite so many claims setting off my bullshit radar.

For those of you who have ever been to RPGNet, this article is selling hotter than pancakes over there. The amount of pearl-clutching hysteria in that thread is of GamerGhazi proportions. And of course, the mods are handing out bans to anyone who expresses skepticism or disagreement, as usual. (This includes myself, I’m sorry to say, otherwise I’d give a link.)

Amusingly, the actual GamerGhazi thread on it is pretty reasonable, with some people expressing skepticism.

RPG.net can get pretty SJW. (That's where I found it.)

I read that article too about the "white male terrorism" in tabletop gaming. I can see some of that behavior happening but I think it's less of patriarchal oppression and more of dealing with people who have no sense of social skills. I could actually see a store owner defend a regular's inappropriate behavior though (don't mess with the bread and butter of the industry).

Maybe I'm just naive or very lucky, but even though I'm a quarter-Asian female, I've never really encountered all these nightmare scenarios that I keep hearing about. The guys at conventions (both comic and gaming) have been civil, the gaming stores I've been to are polite, I've never been discriminated from a group for being female, have never been groped, never gotten a rape or death threat from a gaming forum, never been sexually harassed or assaulted by comic geeks or gamers and I've never heard these stories from my fellow female gaming friends. In fact, I find that being an attractive female in the gaming world can get you favors.

Ok, I've come across two white male gamers who were jerks and I'm not interested in MMORPGs. And the party I currently play with aren't the most politically correct, but then again, my sense of humor is pretty off-color at times. Maybe it's just me, though.

>white male terrorism
I don't really see how being a nasty person while playing a tabletop RPG could be construed as "terrorism" even in the loosest sense of the word. I think the reason why SJWs look for ways to get angry is because they're psychologically addicted to the ego boost they get from what they perceive as righteous indignation.

While I’m skeptical of the truthfulness of this tumblrista, this is a good point. Pretty much all geek hobbies are infested by Cat Piss Men, the fat perverted neckbeard who never showers and creeps on every girl he can see. Why is this asshole tolerated? Because he's one of "us", and we don't want to be a mean excluder. So, Cat Piss Man becomes the public face of D&D. When people think of that hobby, they think of Cat Piss Man. They don't think of the many other people who play D&D and are also normal and well socially-adjusted.

Unless you want to be forever associated with Cat Piss Man and have the stench of his B.O. upon you and everything you enjoy, kick his ass to the curb.

Me and my friend's play mage the ascension, which can get really self-indulgant with white males being the great satan but we've always managed to temper it with the awareness that modern scientific developments such as vaccines and central heating are a really good thing for the normal people. Also the idea of a demi-god talking about CIS privilege is fucking hilarious.

I can see that, what I can't see is made-up scenarios like a whole room full of beta nerds chanting pedophile slogans at some 13 year old girl. That is some bullshit.

Agreed. I can see one social retard doing that but not leading the group into some kind of chant.

They actually expect me to believe everyone in the LGS would be chanting "OLD ENOUGH TO BLEED OLD ENOUGH TO BREED" over and over.

What a load of horsecrap.

Cat Piss Man is why game stores are folding around the country.

So, I homebrewed a race for PF. The idea behind them was "Aasimar, but with monstrous qualities". C&C are welcome.

Somewhere in between Angelic and Mortal, the Elioud are the offspring of the Nephilim- themselves the products of relationships between fallen Aasimar now known as the Grigori and the mortal races. Forced to live with the fallout of this sin, the Elioud have now dedicated themselves to being the Material Plane's monstrous protectors, their secret shields.
Appearance: No two Elioud are exactly the same, the result of various mutations and heavenly "gifts". One might appear as a marble-skinned Human with vestigial wings, another as a feathered Half-Orc. Typically, these qualities hearken back to their angelic ancestor's Host before their fall.
Society and Relations: The Elioud, as penance for the sins that came before their birth, have chosen to willingly live on the very fringes of mortal society- watching over them and protecting them in secret. Small groups or packs of Elioud may come together to pursue a common goal, but will usually split after their goals are fulfilled. Rarely, a single Elioud may be found watching a mortal community.
The gifts of the Elioud can cause mortals to react in fear and even anger, but most Elioud mean well.
Alignments: Elioud find themselves, by blood, drawn to be of Good alignment. However, an Elioud can be of any Alighnment.
Adventurers: Elioud often join with Adventuring parties, intent on finding evil to fight. Their angelic heritage make for devout Paladins and Clerics, and the occasional Sorcerer can be found as well.
Standard Racial Traits
-Ability Score Racial Traits: Elioud are strong and nimble creatures, but unnerving to mortal observers. Elioud gain +2 Strength and +1 Dexterity, but -1 Charisma.
-Size: Elioud are Medium creatures.
-Speed: Elioud have a base speed of 30 feet.
-Languages: Elioud begin speaking Common. Elioud with a high intelligence score can begin play speaking the following languages: Elvish, Draconic, and Celestial.
Senses Racial Traits
-Eyes of the Watchers: Though the fall of the Grigori stripped them of access to their divine powers, their keen senses were passed down without issue to their descendants. Elioud have a +1 Racial Bonus on Perception Checks.
Offensive Racial Traits
-Demon's Bane: Most Elioud have trained for years to fight evil, granting them an almost instinctual knowledge of evil Outsiders's weaknesses. Elioud gain a +1 Insight bonus on attack rolls against evil Outsiders.
-Weapon Familiarity: A long-forgotten war in the Celestial Plane has granted the Nephilim and their Elioud descendants familiarity with certain forms of weaponry. Elioud are proficient with longswords, and treat them as having the "holy" ability.
Other Racial Traits
-Angelic Gifts: The forms of the Elioud are ever-shifting, gaining new powers and mutations. Every 4th Level, instead of choosing a feat, Elioud can roll a 1d20 to choose from a table of Angelic Gifts. (see below).

Racial Feats
⦁ Wings of the Watchers
Prereqs: Elioud, character level 5th
You gain a pair of ethereal wings that grant a fly speed of 20 feet (poor manueverability) and Fly is a class skill for you.

I've been thinking of rolling up a Death Knight sorta character, but I'm having trouble on deciding which classes to multiclass with as to imitate one. Right now, the best choice seems like a Undead Bloodline Sorcerer/ Soul Forger Magus for the undead powers and the runeblade abilities.

Any thoughts?

Is the game Gestalt or otherwise? personally i'd take one of the classes you listed and probably throw in Warlord from Path of War aswell, the 'black sereph' discipline seems to go really well with the whole Death Knight shtick

RPG.net is starting to verge on lolcow territory, given how the mods blatantly censor people for disagreeing and how spergy some of the users are.
Check out the moderator action forum and you'll see what I mean.
