Tabletop Roleplaying Games (D&D, Pathfinder, CoC, ETC.)

I'd like something that supports making characters that range in power from street-level to more conventional capes.
I can't recommend supers games specifically. What I can say is I've used low level powers from the supers companion for Savage Worlds for other supernatural abilities. So if you want something like Punisher or Daredevil, or even Spiderman or Xmen, it might work. Savage Worlds breaks once the numbers get high enough, so I wouldn't recommend it if you want The Avengers.

Has anyone checked out the SCP RPG? After going through it I find that it's pretty difficult to read. Font is too large also, like large enough you could probably shrink the book by 50pages just by using a better sized font. Rules look like a miniature wargamer made the ruleset. Layout is a little off. Artwork isn't bad though and the character sheet is serviceable. The layout for their bestiary isn't bad either and has better art than the rest of the book.

I think something like the Laundry or Delta Green would be a better option when playing in such a universe though, but it's fine for a one off.
So, I've been pretty solidly a Fantasy and Sci-Fi gamer all my life. I find myself, strangely, with the urge to run a supers game.

Does anyone have a pulse on what's good right now for Supers systems? That isn't FATE, because fuck most FATE games, and isn't D20 based, because fuck D20 as a system in general?

I'd like something that supports making characters that range in power from street-level to more conventional capes. Not the high end of the MCU so much, though. No pan-dimensional god-beings and shit. Preferably a system that has a way for characters of various power levels to be together without making it completely stupid. Ironically, the one FATE implementation I've ever liked, the original version of The Dresden Files, had a pretty good mechanic for that... But I just don't wanna do FATE.
Icons might be more your thing.

I've been DMing a 5e campaign to a bunch of my newbie friends. We've been playing it for about a year and a half, 40+ sessions. It's going to end in about 4-6 months from now and I want to run a sci fantasy themed campaign next, something like Star Wars with some D&D elements for the familiarity.

Any recommendations?

Spelljammer setting for DnD. Starfinder apparently isn't too bad or at the very least is perfectly playable from what I heard. Also the d20 Star Wars system would also work, though West End's had a lot more love put into it.

I was at my local game shop and just browsing game books when I saw the Alien tabletop RPG book. Upon asking the dude who works there about it. It seems like it would be good for my gaming group. I'm a little sick of D&D because I got a lousy DM and there's this old boomer man new to TTRPGs who just wants combat and hates roleplaying. While not a great DM, she's a good role player and loves the Aliens franchise, even the newer movies for some fucking reason. I also got two people interested who are completely new to tabletop.

I'm going to GM the canned Hadley's Hope campaign that is included in the core rulebook. This seems like a good way to learn the game mechanics. It uses a system that is entirely d6 based. From going through the core rulebook, it seems such faster paced than D&D. The combat system looks quick and brutal. I really want to see old boomer man try to take down a xenomorph with a knife and get brutally murderized in the process. When I was talking with the game shop guy, he told me "Don't get too attached to your character." On reading through the Hadley's Hope campaign, it looks like everyone is going to die. It will be a good intro to the system and the cheapness of life in the Alien universe.
I've been doing a little looking into it as well and yeah there's something to it. The first idea that came to me was if they could release some sort of UPP lorebook I could see running a sort of campaign in the spirit of the Stalker games just replace the psychic midgets with xenos hell maybe some hybrid feral animals left behind by failed farming colonies roaming about there could be something to that.

Stars Without Number works.

Made some drawings of npcs for the space adventure campaign. Since I'm not gonna use them for a long time, ima just post them here

It looks like a really basic form of 5th Ed. I don't get the allied races though. Like one is against combat and left the series pretty early.

Is it the secretly advanced forest people? I could see there being a few uncucks who aren't ok with the Space Parasites enslaving every other form of humanoid life even if its not their problem.

They're supposedly a new race created for the game but look like the one from the show. They're supposed to be discount Nox. In reality they're your basic elf race.

Even as a shameless elffag when it comes to these things... yeah. Just shut it down. Permanently. Bury the gate and forget it ever existed. The only good elves carry more firepower than a Mexican bandido.

They seem to be more like Vulcans in terms of the ears, who are more into medicine than science.

Somewhat old news that flew under the radar but for anyone still following Star wars tabletops and still hopes AMG won't fuck it up, Luke Eddy the lead developer of Legion, X-wing, and Armada got sacked a few weeks ago with no notice.
I don't know who there replacing him with but this comes 8 months after AMG fired the previous lead developer Alex Davy.

Fuck I really need to find a new dogfighter tabletop, X-Wing and Armada are dying faster then the rest of the star wars IP, Aeronautica Imperialis is kinda shit, and anyone who plays any WW fighters are over 60

this, they're basically the OGs x-wing ripped off/got inspired by. there also is/was a star trek/dnd version, by wizkidz tho.

either way availability could be an issue (like most non-gw tabletops), might wanna keep an eye on kickstarter or check if they're at a con near you (I know they used to be at spiel in essen, but no idea if they're there this year) since I don't know how much they produce for retail.

Fantasy Flight Games used the older rules of Wings of War for X-Wing since they published the game back in the early 2000's to early 2010's. When the license was up they rebranded to Wings of Glory.
