In all honesty - when you make statements such as “I have 7000 followers” and you ask them to help out a cause, or problem, or whatever - you have a responsibility to those followers to own up to when you’ve been wrong. You have a responsibility to those followers to be honest with them when mistakes are made. And you have a responsibility to your followers who you unknowingly duped out of or guilt tripped out of money (that they may or may not have been able to give away freely) to at least apologize to them for being wrong.
You want people to take you seriously, you want to have credibility and have your opinion seen as valid, you need to take responsibility for your part in messes that you get your followers into.
And no, you cannot take responsibility for their actions, you cannot take responsibility for Satsuki/Veronica’s actions - but you have a responsibility to those 7000 followers who look to you for common sense, information, and fucking honesty. You’re a big name, and I once respected your opinions and ideas, but after you openly harassed and shouted down anyone who questioned Satsuki/Veronica, months and months BEFORE Kiwifarms got involved in this mess, I personally completely lost respect for you.
Here were people growing more and more frustrated with the situation - long before Kiwifarms ever entered into the equation, and you treated them like abusive assholes rather than actually trying to see if there were any validity to their claims. Is it any wonder that some of them turned to Kiwifarms of all places, literally the absolute last bottom of the barrel place where even desperate people don’t go, just to try and get SOMETHING done about it?
It’s been said before, but this bears repeating. Months and months before Kiwifarms ever got involved in this, people already had their doubts. People already were trying to voice their concerns that she might be lying and scamming. But you and your friends, and your followers, openly attacked and harassed them into silence. Is it any wonder you have the reputation you do now? Is it any wonder people stopped trying to bring attention to the problem? Why try to bring attention to it, or at least honestly question it if Takashi and his army of followers were going to scream and rage and attack them? People turned to the Farms out of Fear. Fear of you, fear of her followers, fear of your friends - some of whom go out of their way to stalk people across the internet just to harass them. That’s why many of them turned to KF. Because how do you fight something or someone that has turned into the bully they fight against? You find and hire a bigger one.
You failed MANY of your followers (and I was among them) - and friends - here. So much so that they turned to literal internet trolls for help. How bad was the entire situation going to get before you would at least apologize to those who trusted you in this? You have avoided it and avoided it until at last you have been dragged out kicking and screaming into the light like an angry, spoiled child, forced to at least acknowledge it.
There are power in your words and actions, and you wield it irresponsibly and seemingly without care.
You want to be proud of those 7000 followers? You want them to be able to rally together around you to help whatever cause or person you deem worthy?
Become a better fucking person, own up to your mistakes, and for fuck’s sake stop burying your head in the sand like a child. You’re a 23/24 year old grown man. You are an adult.
Fucking act like it.
