Taskmaster, a British gameshow - Now free for everyone to watch on YouTube

I heard Taskmaster Jr. aired today. I'm surprised they picked Rose to be the Taskmaster. It's been a while since I saw her series, but I barely remember anything about her, it always felt like she was in the background of the other contestants that series, specifically Dave and Jo. Mike Wozniak on the other hand was a killer choice for the Alex role.

As for the current series, I think it's pretty great.
It's looking like either Jack or Andy have it in the bag this time. I started the series strongly rooting for Jack, but Andy being a sperg highly obsessed with a nonsensical sport, which he alludes everything to, has slowly grown on me.

Emma is a cutie and it's funny that she picked a stereotypical flasher outfit for her costume.
Baba has had some genuinely funny moments, so I have nothing against him.
Also Rosie is losing so I can laugh at her.

I am glad that Andy won, it wouldn't have been so close if he hadn't had rage quit a couple of tasks, not to mention the DQ he got in episode one. but it made for some nice bit of drama.

I have only seen the first episode of Taskmaster Junior but it seems like a good bit of fun. The kids weren't annoying (That Laser kid was a bit though) and I like Mike quite a bit. It is good to see a Taskmaster that goes back to the fundamentals.

Taskmaster Jr. Is alright so far, but while Mike Wozniak plays a great Alex Horne, Rose Matafeo is no Greg Davies.
For one thing, she's trying way too hard.

I think every (english speaking) Taskmaster that isn't the australian one doesn't hold a candle to Greg. They're either too nice like Rose or bring this really boring news presenter attitude like the New Zealand guy or has been redacted from my memory like the US one.
Tom from the AUS series is still somewhat nice but because they're all aussies the banter is top tier and there always seems to be some seasonal "by episode 9" task to invade his privacy in some way or another. Even if I didn't like the majority of AUS Season 1's cast(2's was top tier even the blatant lisping homo) I loved how much Tom bullied them.

It's probably a bit racist of me, but I always get Taskmaster AU and Taskmaster NZ mixed up... (Both are inferior to the original.) I still haven't seen Taskmaster US, but would still like to, if only to see how shit it really is.

I'm pretty sure though that Taskmaster AU is the one where the Taskmaster is blatantly and obviously biased for, and (more often) *against* certain contestants, and will absolutely base his decision on if he likes the contestant or not.
This is absolutely hilarious to me. I'm glad Greg Davies doesn't *usually* do this, but it's funny to see an alternate version of Taskmaster where it happens all the time, so I do approve.

He seemed to be that way against Wil Anderson and it was hilarious, but I assume since they were on the same podcast(At least I think so but I couldn't find it) that they were friends or at least friendly enough for that banter to not be nasty. Hell that's the same season where they constantly make jokes about the two married couple who were contestants' marriage.

Damn I should've stayed with my initial pick, Andy is such a classic TM winner type. Jack, Andy and Emma were all a delight though, and even Rosie and Baba had some good moments so had fun with this season overall.

Also Alex's awkward joke about the Sugar Guys list: "Top Ten Guys You've Never Seen Sprinting But You Would Imagine Would be Suprisingly Strong Runners"
Number one was Bruce Springsteen. Because he was Born to Run.

It's such a dumb show bros but I love it.

Has anyone been watching Junior Taskmaster?

its a bit different in that they have 25 kids, so the first 5 episodes are basically heats for the semi-finals. I'm watching episode 5, and there is this asian kid who thinks he is so smart because he has an IQ of 120. He thinks he is going to smash the task, only to forget to do a bit of it, and get docked points. His solution also wasn't as good as another contestants. So funny seeing this smarmy kid get wrecked.

Way late to this...

Jeremy Wells is the taskmaster on the nz version. He's probably not right for the roll, and isn't a comedian (I'm not watching it becasue talent depth in nz is too low). He's always been low energy and irrelevant but there's a whole generation of kiwi guys that have grown up with him and see him as a god amongst men.

He grew up as a silverspooner but put out some of the best content around in his younger days that is unairable now. Funny to look back 20 years ago and see how PC was being talked about in 2005.

Oh shit, I didn't realize Chantal was going to be in the next series.
Finally, someone that represents me!

In all seriousness, I can already tell this bitch is going to be insufferable.
I'll maybe watch one episode out of curiosity, but will most likely skip it. Last series I like was 16 and that was mainly due to Sam Campbell.

For the "famous American" contestant... Literally who?
Jason is a professional podcast guest. He appears on podcasts as a wacky guy to contrast the boring host, and his humor usually comes from saying outrageous things and/or repeating what another comedian said in disbelief (while yelling).

He has also appeared as a minor side character in numerous sitcoms.

So, basically, he has the same credentials as every other Taskmaster contestant.

Am I mistaken, or did they claim they were getting a "famous American" for this series?

I checked this dude's imdb and the only things he's been in that I've even heard of are. "Creepy Netflix Pedophile Show" (Well, at least one the many of them...), and a rando in the only Star Trek show that I wasn't even curious enough to listen to the premise of before determining it was trash...

And yeah, he looks like a trash contestant from that interview. Not that the white chick who felt the need to mention her sand ninja gear headpiece no less than 3 times in a 3 minute long interview video wasn't also trash...

Did you expect Oprah or Adam Sandler to go there and make portraits of Greg out of eggs and plastic ducks?
Get a random hobo from the Vegas tunnels and he'll be a "famous American" by br*tish standarts. That's pretty much what they did.

After seeing the first two contestants, I'm very pessimistic about series 19, but maybe the rest three will carry it, no idea who they are. We had series with insufferable contestants before and they were watchable, since Daisy May Cooper or Julian Clary were balanced out by Herring-Parkinson or Campbell-Perkins.
