Is Tesla Gay?

I had a classmate who was obsessed with Teslas to the point of lunacy. They had a white model S (i think). He didn't drive it, because he didn't have a drivers license, because he was retarded. He wore Tesla merch and even made a shitty Tesla cake, I'll try to find a picture of it, he somehow fucked up the Tesla logo on it. He would also listen to pretty much exclusively music that included lines about owning/driving Teslas.

The kicker? He knew nothing about cars barr the fact they have an engine and usually 4 wheels. He was convinced (thanks to us) that he was in fact driving a V8, manual Tesla. Pretty sure he spent a day trying to find the exhaust on it.

I don't like Teslas because the interiors look like they were cobbled together from Ikea furniture.

What the fuck is that Logitech steering wheel shit? I automatically hate any car that has its dashboard in the center of the car.

Also, the cars have the build quality of a 1993 Chevy S10. I sat in a Tesla Uber the other day and it loudly creaked and groaned like a rattlecan Dodge Stratus over every little pot hole.

I appreciate what Tesla is doing but they're not for me.

Besides, I'll have the whole rest of my life to be stuck driving electric cars. I want to enjoy having a V8 before future president Kameltoe makes them illegal.

Electric cars in general are bad overall
Their batteries burn and you can't put it out as easily as a combustion fire thus many departments just let it burn out. It's definitely ad issue that needs addressing
But our gay globalist overlords has already claim EVs are the future (ie, the next big source of revenue, especially once they make buying them impossible so we have to rent them).
And they are good for the planet, after all they are 50% more efficient than gas with only double the weight of the car.

So basically if it had a cool interior, this would sooth your rage?

I didn't hear anything against their fuel economy or the fact that they are electric - just shit interiors and options.

If it looked like a Ferrari, would you buy one?
If they had better interiors then they’d probably just be lumped in with the rest of EVs, but no, I still wouldn’t buy them because I still don’t like EVs. A lot of why I don’t specifically like Teslas (mind you, I don’t like EVs) comes from these parts that stand out about them, such as the laughable interiors and the obnoxious drivers. There’s also the fact that many of these design decisions are starting to rub off onto other car makers, I did mention how other cars like the S Class are following Tesla’s “lets put everything on the touch screen mentality” which also irks me.

I did put a few points against Teslas that aren’t just about interior and options, I did mention how they’re a pain in the ass to repair and the poor construction for how much you pay for them. I also did mention some points that also go for all EVs, such as the repairability, the shitty exhuast note and how there’s no actual environmental benefit from driving one around. Fair enough I guess, I edited so it also talked about other points for why I don’t like EVs

I hope you find that picture, this person sounds extremely lulzy, but somehow not abnormal for a Tesla fan

Tesla fan boys are really retarded the "Autopilot" is literally in beta still and people are literally paying money to be guinea pigs. On top of that there are other manufacturers that make better versions of "autopilot" but they cant call it that because they would be sued. Somehow Elon convinced a large amount of people to sign something to not sue tesla for killing their own family and other people.

This is exactly the point I bring up as to why people who shill EVs so much are so annoying. They know nothing about cars yet their ego is so big and they always have to be the smartest person in the room. They'll constantly bash combustion engines because they know nothing about them and thus have no appreciation of all the inner workings. To them an EV just works and it makes them feel superior.

Personally it really pisses me off to see EVs being pushed so hard. It does not feel like a natural progression; hybrid/fuel efficient vehicles feel like the logical next step. I don't want to doom-post but I just hate all this "own nothing" future stuff. I used to be excited for the future but now I'm filled with dread. The only good thing about all this is that it's prompted me to really start taking steps to owning my dream car before I can't.

It's because EVs aren't a natural progression. At least not yet with our relatively shit battery tech. EV fans love to use the "cars replaced horses" analogy, completely ignoring that cars offered many capabilities that horses can't provide nearly as well, if at all.

Current EVs offer nothing as a net benefit. All of their benefits come with pretty decent tradeoffs compared to ICE vehicles. There is no work or economic benefit to EVs in their current form, at least outside of factors that are being artificially created by those who stand to benefit from it (crushing ICE regulations, axing oil on purpose, massive rebates on EVs, etc). Without those measures EVs would be dead ATM.

Hydrogen Fuel Cell Plug-in Hybrids were supposed to be the future and every major manufacturer was researching them, until Obama and the EU arbitrarily decreed that electric was the way to go. Hydrogen cars have all the benefits of both electric (instant torque, ability to commute without going to a gas station) and gas cars (quick refueling, low weight) with the benefit of only emitting water and their only real downside being that a hydrogen jerry can is bulkier.

Fortunately, the Japanese love hydrogen and they are still developing it for their domestic market.

Maybe I'm ignorant but there are two big things that I don't understand about EVs and people that shill them which seem like big downsides to me. One is the practicality - they have a limited range and no country in the world currently has the infrastructure to make them even close to traditional cars in terms of usability. If your tank runs low you can fuel up in 5 minutes (in one of thousands of pumps in any given country) and travel hundreds of miles more. An electric you'd have to leave plugged in overnight. I don't see them being useful until we come up with easily replaceable fuel cells or something.

The other bug bear is the environment. Unless your country's electricity comes almost exclusively from renewable sources what's the point? You are still burning coal or whatever to make the electricity that charges your car. Do people think electricity magically comes out of thin air? I guess you can make an argument about localised air pollution - high density urban areas can benefit from better air quality if they have mostly EVs. Still a pretty weak arguments and not even considering the environmental impact of the shit we have to spew into the environment to make the batteries.
