Nah, they've come a long way since those things were true.
I'm not a fan of Teslas due to how boring they are, questionable build quality, and secondhand autism from their fans. So here's a Kia EV6:

That's a pretty nice looking car. The interior is also pretty nice:

Range: it'll comfortably do over 300 miles on a single charge. That's still way behind an ICE vehicle, but not so much so that it's impractical. Most people will be able to live with 300 miles of range without inconvenience.
Charging: on a 50kwh public charger, it'll take an hour from 20% to 80%. An hour isn't great, but if you're a typical car owner you'll rarely need to use public chargers (just get one at home and plug it in overnight).
50khw chargers are no longer uncommon, in fact they're already old tech. Most new chargers are 150kwh or more, which means you can charge this car to 80% in 20 minutes. And they're building new ones every day, everywhere.
That's still behind ICE in terms of convenience (5 mins at the pump is better than 20 mins at a charger, and sometimes these things break or you have to wait for a free slot), but for the average person doing an average commute / school run / shopping trips, it's fine. They're no longer meme cars for Silicon Valley autists, they're mainstream now.
