I've never seen anyone parked in the electric charging stations in the parking lots we've got here. And I live in a big, dense, tropical city, which solves a lot of the issues with lost capacity due to cold and short needed range. Shame, too, because I think it would make a nice sink for how much solar we can get here year-round.

After a stop-sale on the EV Blazer, GM is resuming sales of it, at $5-6k reduced prices. GM even reached to people that bought the EV Blazer prior to the price drops, offering reimbursements for the price change:

It looks like that the dropping like rock demand for EVs is putting automakers in price slashing mode to get rid of rising inventories. Nissan also recently announced price cuts to the Ariya, as in $3.6-6k less.

Liquidation sales.

Can't wait to see the shitstorm in the 2030s when these vehicles inevitably crap out or even burst into flame.

EVs are shit at anything but urban traffic.
Just like euro6 engines all the limitations and tricknology stuffed inside them make them hilariously useless for aything beyond flat and well paved terrain.
Cant wait for automakers to scramble to get old production lines running because that WEF world domination plan ran into the good old bottleneck for petty tyrants.

Logistics.

I really don't get why they have barely experimented with a hybrid approach, something like the Edison truck that has a fully electric drivetrain but uses a proper onboard generator to supplement a smaller and lighter battery pack. If they build a platform like that, they could experiment with letting owners switch out the generator for a fuel cell or traditional battery pack or something else.

The hybrid approach doesn't fit with the agenda, they can mine the fuck out of the planet for lithium/cobalt etc without moral outrage from the perpetually outraged and produce overpriced morally pure vehicles that won't even last 100,000 km.

When the ponzi scheme fails and a substantial number of people are burning to death, it will be right wing white men who are blamed at why the tech was doomed to fail. Outside of small inner city cars they are tard tech. They are a massive danger in enclosed carparks, tunnels, ferries etc.

If you ever had to deal with an EV tard, just bring up "thermal runaway".

Will be good to see Elon on Joe Rogan, "out of all of mankind I know the most about putting people into ovens".

Check the pricing. Usually those public chargers cost more than paying for gas.

The original Fisker Karma used this drivetrain set-up, but the engine was prone to run very loud, and the mileage was disappointing due to it's small fuel tank.

And the BMW i3 also had an option to include a 2-cylinder engine for a range extender, but the car itself wasn't popular and didn't catch on.

RAM is promising a full series hybrid pickup, coming soon. We'll see how it goes. Plus the Edison conversion kit.

The other day I saw a "Cybertruck" IRL. For some reason I didn't know it was like a pickup truck before then.

Depends on a lot of things. Price, place, etc.

Most modern EVs don't need to recharge during the day - 250 miles is at least a solid 3 hours of driving, and very few people drive on a daily basis that far even with commute. And you always leave the house full. Even rideshare and taxi drivers often have preferred places (cheapest rates in town).

EV stations between major metropolitan areas (for example) often have lots of people using them.

Well, the Chevrolet EV pickup is now almost available for ordering. But my local dealer isn't actually going to sell them, so I need to go somewhere else if I want to order one. Decisions, decisions.
This continues to be a giant pain in the ass.
I'm feeling like that Seinfeld reservation scene.

Found a dealer a week ago that said "Sure we can order that for you." Now a week with no progress. Tomorrow I think I'm going to call someone else.

No wonder Tesla is doing so well. No pointing fingers between dealerships and "corporate" all on-line, etc. Too bad the Cybertruck is ugly as fuck and about as useless.

When it comes to dealers, it's fun to threaten them by saying you'll search elsewhere when they're uncommunicative like that.
