Is Tesla Gay?

Waiting for my accountant to call me back to see if I qualify for the $7350 fed tax credit or not. The recent revisions to the 3 and Y, along with the financing might have me going back for a second helping of Tesla.

Otherwise I’ll just keep driving my 2022 M3LR for a bit longer.

The obscene new hummer weighs just under 10,000 lbs. I can’t wait for hood rats to get these used in a few years.
I've only really seen rich niggers driving them anyhow.

I do keep considering the possibility of getting an EV, because the basic idea of infinite torque sounds fun. Ignoring the weight issues and everything else, if course. Except, I look inside every one of them and see nothing but acres of screen, minimalist futurism, no buttons. Nothing tactile and endless distractions. The only ev I saw that had a tolerable interior was a ten year old nissan leaf. A fucking leaf!

Couldn't care about torque. Nothing can compensate for the sound of a V12 on full chat. Hell, even the start-up on my Rapide makes me hard when it just explodes into life.

Is the Rapide reliable?

I had to cum when I heard that cold start.

I mean "reliable" in a sense that you could daily it and put 10k miles/year on it.

Or is it "reliable" in McLaren terms where you're happy if the car doesn't break down more than 5 times every year and you get to show it off from time to time getting groceries.

I semi-daily it. I do about 5k a year. The biggest issue is primary cat ingestion, which is solved by removing them. Otherwise it's fairly bulletproof if you keep it well serviced.

EV's tax credits just transfer money from the working man, to the richer homosexuals so they can have a second toy.
Without the leasing loophole, the Biden EV credits were useless. The income limits were so low that anyone who could actually afford to buy the expensive EVs didn’t qualify for them.

I’m sure some retards got ridiculously long loans that they can’t really afford and got the credits though.

My EV is pretty much identical to the gas and Diesel versions. Most things used while driving are tactile like the temp/fan/defrost on-off. Most of the less used stuff like changing which ducts to use are on the display. The only serious annoyance is the headlights are controlled on the touchscreen, and I often want to turn them on when the car doesn't think they're needed. The nav is on the display and the dash and the HUD but that's usually a bit better than having my tiny phone screen in a mount like I used to use.
infinite torque sounds fun
I always enjoy people who pull up beside me at a red light where a lane ends up the road and thinking they'll be able to pass me. Note: they aren't.

The funny part is, EVs would be entirely viable, provided you supplied your own electricity at home instead of using someone else's charger ($0.10 KW/h vs $0.45 KW/h) as if you don't, it would be like paying $5.50 for gasoline. The problem is that they're still built like rich man's toys.

Case in point: the Electric Silverado. Easily the best of the EV Trucks on the market, with the base model offering four hundred miles of range, an elite figure even with real-life driving lowering that number. '

The thing can also tow competently, the range is reduced, but not to an unusable amount. A diesel is still better if towing will be your main truck purpose, but it's a versatile vehicle.

Best part, if you drive 15,000 miles a year, which the average American does, you'll save 1,500 dollars every year on fuel costs alone, provided you charge it with your own power. Even after 10 years of ownership requiring a new battery, with the money saved on brakes and fluids, you'll still be up at least 10 grand after 10 years of ownership over an ICE Silverado.

The problem is that a similarly spec'd Silverado is twenty thousand dollars cheaper. By the time you break even on ownership costs, it will be over 15 years in, which is older than the average car on American roads right now (13 years).

got what I voted for.webp
lt interior.webp

vs

silverado ev.webp
ev interior.webp

If automakers want to make EVs mainstream, perhaps they should look at their lowest spec of trucks for cost saving inspiration:

silverado wt.webp
wt interior.webp
Look at that! Physical controls and dials! A screen that only exists for radio, backup camera, navigation, and connecting to your phone via bluetooth! Cloth seats!!! This in an EV would dissuade everyone's merited fears of screens taking over everything.

If you want to go more extreme than just cheapening out the interior, you can go from 4WD to 2WD and save another 3 thousand dollars.

Now, would a work-truck spec EV sell for an MSRP of $64,000? Probably not, but this time, you break even on running costs with the $55,000 LT after only 6 years instead of 15. The technology is almost there, they now need to stop making these cars toys for the rich and they'll be able to compete on economy with ICE vehicles.
