Mick Gordon's Doom soundtrack?
Pretty djenty IIRC so Meshuggah would probably fit.

As someone who only recently got into metal, any recommendations on music that sounds similar to Mick Gordon's Doom soundtrack? Or the Metal Gear Rising soundtrack? They're both pretty unique.
For doom, go for any type of djent band. It was a style popular in the early 10's. Big bands are Periphery, TesseracT, Architects, and Vildhjarta. And of course, I would be remiss without mentioning Meshuggah, they're probably closest to what you're wanting. Meshuggah aren't djent themselves, but they're the creative ancestor of it. Basically every djent band is trying to be melodic Meshuggah with whiny vocals, but that's just me. Also worth noting, I'm pretty sure Mick Gordon specifically sited Meshuggah as an inspiration.

MGR is a bit harder, I'm less familiar with more melodic styles. That weird electronic power metal type thing that game has going on is kind of unique to it. If it isn't, I'm not informed on what they're aping. My best recommendation would be to dig into power metal and see what you like, but bear in mind most power metal has a much bigger fantasy bent and isn't going to have that technological sound the MGR OST does.

I spent a pointless amount of time pondering what Meshuggah track would be the most "Doomy" sounding.

I've been listening to this album that sounds like a combo of the two things you described.

If this sounds like the MGR soundtrack (don't know; only played that one MGR game on the first Playstation) I would recommend bands like later In Flames and Soilwork or Avatar and whatnot. Not my cup of tea so I'm not familiar with a lots of names but typing in "melodic death metal" and "In Flames" in YouTube should lead to some results.

I don't listen to nearly enough Meshuggah to even have a guess, but where did you end up?

Metal Gear Rising is veeeeeeeeery different from Metal Gear Solid. Solid is twelve hours of Solid Snake running around in a cardboard box and getting jerked around by mission control, Rising is a postmodern stealh twink ripping out people's spines and eating them while yelling about THE MEMES.

Ahab released another song off their upcoming new album and I like it way better than the first one. Sounds like a continuation of what they were doing on Glen Carrig.

Plus the music video is done with miniatures and stop motion and I goddamn fucking love that shit.

Have clean vocals always been a thing in Ahab?
Cool video.

Appreciate the recommendations. I'll probably look for instrumental versions of the Doom-like bands since I'm not a fan of the typical growling vocals.

With the power metal, I did like some of Dragonforce's later stuff but it's not quite the same. MGR is pretty unique. I only wish Spotify's recommendations didn't suck for both the Doom and MGR soundtracks.

New Album by NEZHEGOL/Нежеголь.

The album art is really well done. The artist did a custom painting for it.

I don't think I've ever seen Нежеголь written in latin characters

There's a practice on this site if a cow asks for their thread to be removed, Josh will sometimes begin a vote for the users as to whether or not he should do so, a process which he named "rules of nature" based on that first track in the MGR soundtrack.
Anyways, the guys in this thread are metal autists. Everything with a beat is going to sound like Meshuggah to them.

It'll almost sound insulting but what you're looking for to me sounds more like alternative hard rock that you'd hear a lot in the early 2000s:

Also if you're fine with instrumental versions of songs, these aren't the same but they might be a style you like:

In terms of instrumental type metal, those are along the line of what I usually listen to.

Another option if you're fine with instrumentals and want something gamier sounding is one of the better spotify stations I have, which is Master Boot Record. Put that into artist radio and you'll like it. It'll bring up a bunch of...synthetic metal I guess you could call it? See if this is up your alley:
