The Abortion Debate Containment Thread - Put abortion sperging here.

That is not what that means, it just means it wasn't medically necessary. It has nothing to do with being used in lieu of a condom, etc.

If it isn't medically necessary, then it is by definition being used as "birth control." As in, to enable the woman to have sex without having children as a result (which is, y'know, the purpose of birth control).

Yes, a *secondary* form of birth control. It's not being used because they're too lazy to use normal birth control, it's a failsafe.

So you admit that the 90+% of abortions which fall under "elective" are indeed being used as a substitute for birth control. Okay. Not sure what your point was, but at least we cleared that up.

i duuno man. i think Abortion should be legal but to a point. both parties need to agree to the Abortion for it too happen and if there disagreements with that, either side can spilt ways and have no responsibility over the kid or get the Abortion.

i remember my mate and his now wife decided to have an abortion because they were not ready economically to support a child and were still to busy with work. few years later, they got married and now have a daughter they love.
Why didn't they take other precautions?
Why do people keep saying "abortion is not a valid form of birth control, use a condom"? Who honestly thinks this is the standard reason people get abortions? I'd always believed that just about everyone used birth control of some form when they had sex, and abortions happen when that birth control fails.

It's quite possible these are legit incels who don't know the basics of sex. When I said that I'd broken condoms before a bunch of posters acted like it was a really weird thing to say, someone even put it in the random_txt thread. Pretty much anyone who has sex and/or talks to other people who have sex know this is a fact of life, condoms aren't magical.
You think way too highly of sex-havers. Most people don't give two shits or a fuck about using any form of contraception other than hopefully pulling out in time.

No they aren't a "substitute", you moron. I just laid out that they are used when normal birth control fails. That's not a substitute, that's a second attempt.

If playing that semantic game helps you sleep at night, then sure.

What gave you this idea? I've almost never heard of this (and I am a "sex-haver")

Obligatory "press X to doubt."

I said exactly the same thing I said from the beginning, which is that it is used after normal birth control fails. You sound so fucking soft and hurt about this.

And buddy, you basically came out and said you are an incel. No one other than incels has the sort of sensitivity about it you do.

>assures us he is a "sex-haver"
>goes out of his way to call others incels

Methinks the lad doth protest too much.

I was using the term facetiously.

What gives me that idea? Have you ever spent time around other people? Have you truly had sex?
  • Condoms are absolute garbage for pleasurable sex and there hasn't been a single viable substitute. This is the first thing couples avoid, because it reduces how pleasurable sex can be pretty significantly
  • Birth control isn't 100% effective unless you take it as often as you should. You know how many girls I've known that would miss a pill here and there and still engage in sex?
  • A lot of guys bust in there thinking the pill will protect them.
  • What is abstinence?
  • Sex is a passionate event and people will get down to it in the heat of the moment without taking the proper measures.
  • I've never not fucked someone who wanted me to take the condom off
  • I've never met a guy who hasn't had unprotected sex at some point in their life, generally in adolescence.
People. Don't. Care. "It won't happen to me" is the worst fallacy in human logic and it's exactly what causes unwanted pregnancies. You need to wrap it, she needs to be on the pill, or else you need to have a game plan for when she does get pregnant and it can't be abortion. You already decided you were okay with a kid by sticking it in without protection.

I may still be figuring out my stance on abortion as a whole but you're a retard if you think it's a viable form of birth control.

Is this a copypasta lol

Yes, condoms suck and take a lot of the life out of sex. I hate using them and am willing to accept some level of risk by just relying on a woman taking the pill, within the right context.

Also, there is a difference between having a retard moment and neglecting birth control and just never bothering.

Please explain the difference between momentarily forgetting that you don't want a baby and forgetting you don't want a baby in the long term.

What else needs explaining? You just said it.
There isn't a difference. It's irresponsible people having irresponsible sex and thinking that deleting the fetus is A-OK for their momentary bliss. It's not. It's being incredibly irresponsible and insensitive to life. Once you get pregnant, it is your duty to carry that child.

Pro-choicers love to drag out stories of horrifically deformed babies to defend late-term abortion in particular. Anencephaly is a fave- it's fatal, it's easily diagnosed with ultrasound (after about mid-pregnancy), and howwwww can you maaaaaake a pooooor wahmen carry a MONSTER like that to term only for it to die a miserable death?

But they never answer for me why abortion (killing the baby before birth then inducing contractions to facilitate delivery) is better for the woman than enrolling her in something like perinatal hospice, where counselors and nurses help make sure that both the physical and psychological pain are addressed in the hospital.

Late term abortion procedure described here.

1. Cervical dilation starts a couple days before the procedure. (Painful.)
2. "Most patients will be provided NSAIDs for pain management." (Ibuprofen)
3. "The rate of mortality following legal procedures in the US is 0.62 legal induced abortion-related deaths per 100,000 reported legal abortions. The strongest risk factor for mortality following abortion is increasing gestational age." (Not any safer than normal labor and delivery.)

The woman goes to the clinic and gets the dilating materials put in her cervix, then goes home. She comes back for the procedure and is discharged later that day to home, where she bleeds and has milk come in exactly like after a normal birth. They recommend stuffing cabbage leaves in the bra and binding the chest to stop the milk coming in.

Meanwhile the birth plans for perinatal hospice talks about getting narcotics for pain relief and sedation to help sleep. It talks about what family you want present, and having a chaplain and counselor available for emotional and spiritual support. You experience the whole thing in a hospital where someone can monitor your bleeding and vital signs and provide IV pain relief. Counselors help with funeral arrangements.

How is this not more compassionate to a woman/couple experiencing such a loss, compared to throw back an ibuprofen and hold onto the rails so we can suck the baby's brains out and throw it in a bag?

It gets bought up because of laws like this getting passed women are cornered about abortion laws when we see shit like this.

From what I can tell late term abortions are even rarer and after Dr George Tiller was murdered there are only like two doctors left who actively perform them and mostly only for medical reasons like abnormalities or threat to mother’s life I am not talking Down syndrome babies here either But horrifying and painful shit like this yet you people still can’t stop screeching about something that is incredibly rare and usually only done for medical reasons either.
Oh hi since you're here and using this tiresome argument, can you address the questions I asked in my post quoted above? No one from your side ever does, maybe you can be the first.
