Honestly, I'm not sure. I know in the WIP telegram it just said a big belly, so no damn idea if it inflates or deflates. I just know I hate it. With all my heart.

Perhaps the pay was just that good. Or they saw it as a challenge. When things progress far enough, the question of why overtakes the question of how. Kudos to them for finding a way, I guess. It’s impressive that they pulled it off at least.

I suppose so. I really wish I could answer the question on if it inflates or deflates for maximum horror. But the WIP telegram didn't say nor has the idiot that paid for this suit said. For why the suit makers did it, simple: to be the first suit makers who made a successful, pretty decent looking inflation suit. Nevermind that it's for fetish and a nuisance if worn in public, it's weird, it's different, and it stands out from all the basic fursuit makers out there. Being the first to do something holds a lot of weight (heh) in the art industry. "Look at this weird thing we made, isn't it neat?" catches eyes.

Part of what I’m both fearful of and excited for (merely because I find weird shit like this to be funny and amusing) is that this could be the gateway to some even weirder suits. this is a good question. i've honestly no clue, but there are some candidates i'll list below.

here are two things: one, not reeeally a fetish but might transition to some; the other is too niche of a fetish to become notable:

"toon" furries are some of the weirdest motherfuckers when it comes to fetishes, but most of what they're into is physically impossible. still, this style of fursuit could pave the way for something new, due to the esoteric nature of their sexual expression.

both are by the same person. it should be noted that the second character is a vore icon, animated in glorious 3D and available on YouTube. so... more vore suits, maybe?

the "style" (which is, well, a few pieces of felt for "hair") is becoming more and more popular, so look out for developments, lol

this guy's fetish is becoming a literal statue. he and another person made "fursuits" that look like statues, and stood still for a while in the middle of a hallway.

i don't think the people understand that this is a sexual thing for him, sadly.

the popularity of this concept is extremely thin, however. incredibly niche. this likely wont be any bigger than just these guys, but you never know.

imagine a hallway filled with a dozen non-moving people in suits. imagine a panel where they all line up in a "gallery" pretending to be sculptures, and that's it. i think, if it's going to happen, this is the next step for this style of fursuit.

the only "new" idea that came to mind (which happened while writing this post): the scat/diaper furries could develop a device that attaches to the rear of the suit and dispenses like... brown Play-Doh or a similar substance. boy, that'd be something.


realistically, the next step is an improvement of the base "engineering" of fursuits in general (think: the difference between fursuits at the first few furry conventions compared to ones today). maybe improvement of the "movable face" idea to combat the dead-ness of expression (moving jaws/adjustable eyes are already a thing), or streamlining designs to make them easier to wear without compromising quality? my mind's on how cosplay has improved over the years, so i think this is a likely possibility. the money's definitely there to make it happen.
