every single black market is an error room, i softlock every time i run through a floor a little too fast with mega mush, and using the glowing hourglass crashes my game at random, but i'm sure that's such a difficult issue to fix that it takes 2 whole goddamn months
like hey a card game kickstarter is cool and all but shouldn't some of these have been fixed in like a week max

best gamecrashing bug is the Clicker on tainted characters.

You play as T.Cain and wanna cheese some T.Lost checkmarks but everything is foiled because T.Isaac can´t hold more than 8 items and crashes your shit.

the fucked up thing is that this always happens, too. even with less than 8 items. just clickering to t-isaac ever crashes your game. at least with t-cain you can try to get around it with the car battery and some prayer

Ironically you can circumvent the 8 limit with Lilith's Soul.

Edit: without causing a crash

Unpopular opinion:

Normal mode is better than hard mode.

-Lowered drop rates of pick ups and soul heart from fires is just gay.
-Nerfing the shop is stupid in general you end up with too much money.
-Faster bullets is not really fun.
-More champion foes but no special drops from them is stupid.
-More curses is just tedious.

Beside unlocks I don't see any reason to play hard mode.
Same with greedier. Less money and another boss phase?

Only one guy is working on updating the game despite what seems like commercial success. Even Edmund doesn't know when that's going to come out he isn't involved with the game as much anymore (IMO guy cut and run). Tyrone is too busy screaming about blacks and jews.

An update was supposed to come out in June. Parts of the game are blatantly unfinished:

  • Multiple Tainted characters are unfinished
  • Many items are unfinished
  • Delirium is still a buggy piece of shit. Had multiple instances where his bgm just stops playing in the first 20 seconds of his fight.
  • Greed(ier) mode is an unbalanced mess, Ultra Greed has a bug where he doubles his boss armor for the entire fight when he braces, making the fight twice as long.
  • There are some achievements that worked in Afterbirth+ that now just don't work. So you can't 100% the game unless you did said achievements in AB+
  • Game has some embarassing softlock issues with new characters/items/consumables
The June update was just supposed to fix some bugs. Keep in mind the game was delayed before.




I'm expecting console release to be broken as fuck for ages.

I've gotten used to hard mode though some rooms suck like the big room in basement with horfs all over it. The shop was already sort of a joke, though the removal of reroll machines is stupid.

Edmund got traumatized that a streamer broke the game, so he shot his own game design.

And Greedier has extra unlocks for each character, so you have to play it.

I hope that's not the same guy who plays without picking up any items and considers it the only true and right way to play the game. The one who i suspect is behind the retarded nerfs.

Weird how Birthright is incomplete in Antibirth and still incomplete in Repentance.

How hard is it even to get it working for the other characters?

In Antibirth it does nothing for Samson, Azazel and Lazarus. In Repentance it works for them but for whatever fucking reason it now does nothing for Cain, Maggie and Judas. Why not just copy the effects, however bad they were? Can always change them later, it would be better than having nothing.

Balance is also off.

A lot of the new floors have insta-kill rooms...
The new Mother boss is blatantly overpowered if you have no projectile protection.
Etc etc.

And yet the item you get for beating Greedier as Lazarus is arguably one of the worst unlocks in the game, right up there with the unlock you get for beating Mega Satan as Tainted Lost. Seriously, fuck Plan C and haunted chests.

You really notice the bullshit spike blocks,double eyes ennemies or too much ennemie in a small crowded room with the lost and even more tainted lost.

Plan C can be good for beast but yeah that's it.
Unlocks making your life more difficult is number one bullshit

Some things can be combined with Plan C for an easy win. Inner Child, Soul of Lazarus and Tainted Lost's Birthright all work for it.

But plan C overall is obtuse and a mess of an item. It has reduced weight in the item pool though so you'll see it very, very rarely.

We're in the middle of August and there's still no update for the game to fix some of the more annoying problems. Mcmillen said the update would come "soon" recently. That update won't be fixing Delirium yet. At this pace, I doubt the game will actually be finished until next year.

Many additions to the game since seem mean-spirited in some fashion. The amount of unlocks also gets insufferable to be frank. Rebirth had a decent challenge and a decent chunk of content.

In other news, consoles got an updated version of Repentance. Edmund said on Twitter that PC would get this patch, but the dev (Kilburn) is saying otherwise on Discord. Supposedly he'd like to bundle bug fixes with his "bigger update" soon. That patch has been coming soon since August.

To make matters worst, it seems he's still the only guy updating the game. This is an indie game that's grossed millions. You're apparently not supposed to discuss what the guy says on a public Discord server outside of it, jannies rules.

He seems autistically fixated on his update being as perfect as possible. This leaves a bunch of Repentance content bugged/unfinished and modders can't fix it because the API is still in a bad state.

Is McMillen/Nicalis acting like a bunch of incompetent buffoons or is this a regular thing? I remember Afterbirth+ being a total joke.
