Just beat the game, played the ps5 version so the one without the tec issues. Overall mixed on the game, would say I liked it but it has issues.

Game is mostly about melee and dodging, and is pretty fun once you get the hang of it. However this style of combat really doesn't work in areas where you are expected to use it against multiple enemies, especially mixed enemies types. However as the game goes on and you get more weapon/attack options this does become far less of an issue, but early game doesn't leave the best impression.

The bosses in this game are awful. Outside one boss, they all have instant death attacks. Now the issue isn't the instant death attacks themselves but when they throw other enemies into the mix. This comes to ahead on the final boss which if you look away from will wreck your shit, and would be fine if they didn't also add these exploding enemies to the mix, which on their own aren't hard to deal with but do become an issue when you really need to be looking at the boss and not looking for where ever they are in case they back attack you.

I did end up liking the dodge, but it can sometimes put you into a weird camera spot which did end up killing me and doesn't always play nice when you have two monsters attacking you at the same time. Wouldn't say this happens all the time but enough that you would notice it. Worth noting the game is good with checkpoints, so never a huge set back.

The game is hard but too many points fells more unfair. Would have been better to make bosses stronger or even normal enemies stronger but only have you fight them on their own or in smaller groups because that is where the game truly is at it's best.

Story is good because it really doesn't gets in the way of the game, are a few moments of walking and talking that plague newer games however they are not in great number and pretty short. Main issue with the story is, it ends with a sequel bait or DLC bait, when it feels like the game could have went on for another 2 hours or so and wrapped that up within it as well.

I do look forward to a follow up because core of the game is great just some poor enemy encounter designs really let it down.

i feel the same when people say that cp77 is good now. i fired it up last month and is still the same buggy, barren piece of shit
It leads into what I said before. Delays don't fix shitty design. Games that are designed in a shit way with a lack of clear vision will always be shit. No matter how much you patch it you can't patch out fundamental design, story and mechanical issues unless you make an entirely different game and only Square Enix was able to do that due to all the Final Fantasy money.

Just want to give you PC gamers a small update:
I changed the engine.ini by adding the render option. In additon I deactivated HDR and also V-Sync. Now I ran the benchmark test and the framerate jumped from 55 to 85 fps. Seems as if the tip for the UE4 engine helped though imho I think deactivating V-Sync helped the most. So if any PC gamer are out there maybe this helps you for to make the game more playable.

Glad I didn't get it. I'll wait on a massive discount.

Waiting for the edition with all the dlc seems like the way to go. Its far from a bad game but at full price can't recommend.
I haven't bought a "new" game at release in a very long time. Most of my PS4 hard drive is either heavily discounted stuff or it has all the DLC already since it's been out a couple of years.

I normal do the same, but was able to get a steal on this game and will be it to sell it for a small profit

if people didnt learn that lesson with the outer worlds they never will
Death Stranding “From the creators of Metal Gear.” Dogshit.

The Outer Worlds “From the creators of Fallout: New Vegas.” Dogshit.

Back 4 Blood “From the creators of Left 4 Dead.” Dogshit.

Cyberpunk 2077 “From the creators of The Witcher 3” Dogshit.

The Callisto Protocol “From the creators of Dead Space.” Dogshit.

I think I’m noticing a trend.

I played Cyberpunk earlier this year and yeah it’s still shit. One of the endings is impossible to get because the quest behind it is completely broken.

To be fair, Death Stranding is nothing like Metal Gear and hasn't really promoted itself as such. If anything it's very much a Hideo Kojima game.

death stranding was divisive, but its also probably the only example of a AAA game with actual creativity. I personally enjoyed it, but I know its not for everyone, and arguing with people who its not for is meaningless. I think the only reason such a unique AAA was even made was because of Kojima's name being attached.

Just another update: played a bit with my new settings and the game is now running smoothly (well so far) Only got a little stuttering in some cutscenes but gameplay so far is fluid. Might put a video up if you are interested.

Death Stranding was kino, KINO!

For exceptions to that rule there is Bloodstained and its spin-offs, Iga seems to give a shit. The off brand indie reboot of franchises is a fools game as this and most everything else has proved.

So I played this on my dad's PS5 (my dad's house has basically become my own personal blockbuster where I can preview games before I buy them essentially thank you dad for having that PS5 subscription service) and as someone who is a die hard fan of Dead Space including the third entry (to a lesser extent) I can say with confidence that this was a spiritual successor that I vehemently did not like at all. In fact I genuinely hated this game by the half-way mark. I feel like people need to understand that there's a key difference between a lead game designer and game designer and a game developer. A designer is intended to design the game similar to how a architect is meant to design a house via drawings or pictures. A developer is supposed to build the game using code or graphic design similar to how a builder is supposed to put the design into play using bricks and materials to build a house. I do not doubt for one moment that these people did not design Dead Space let alone even designed the nuances that went into Dead Space or survival horror games in general.

I'll go into more detail when I finish this game but first impressions have been terrible and I'm not surprised at all this game is turning out the way it is because I've learned that there's a key difference with a developer and a designer.

I have a theory that anyone who says this hasn't actually played No Man's Sky recently. It's still the same shitty and shallow game. They just added unconnected and shallow grind islands to artificially inflate the game's content. So idiots online can parrot that the game is good now. When it isn't. It's still just as shitty. But with more shit.

Pretty sure 99% of the people saying it are just taking the word of Internet Historian.

Also reading the game's plot, it sounds like a failed Resident Evil idea.

I have played it recently, compared to how it was when it was first introduced, there is a vast world of difference.

I was pretty upset by the sci-fi part of the horror for this game. Necromorphs still feel pretty unique and exciting to think about. How they spread and operate make them very iconic video game enemies that add a lot to the atmosphere of Dead Space.

Narratively, Callisto Protocol suffers and I was hoping bare minimum learning what causes these crazy monsters to pop up would be entertaining but no they are pretty generic and the events surrounding them are bland as well.

This game looks like AIDS.

Tired of these lame-ass "sci-fi" games that have tumorous blobs instead of any science.
