Just beat the game, played the ps5 version so the one without the tec issues. Overall mixed on the game, would say I liked it but it has issues.
Game is mostly about melee and dodging, and is pretty fun once you get the hang of it. However this style of combat really doesn't work in areas where you are expected to use it against multiple enemies, especially mixed enemies types. However as the game goes on and you get more weapon/attack options this does become far less of an issue, but early game doesn't leave the best impression.
The bosses in this game are awful. Outside one boss, they all have instant death attacks. Now the issue isn't the instant death attacks themselves but when they throw other enemies into the mix. This comes to ahead on the final boss which if you look away from will wreck your shit, and would be fine if they didn't also add these exploding enemies to the mix, which on their own aren't hard to deal with but do become an issue when you really need to be looking at the boss and not looking for where ever they are in case they back attack you.
I did end up liking the dodge, but it can sometimes put you into a weird camera spot which did end up killing me and doesn't always play nice when you have two monsters attacking you at the same time. Wouldn't say this happens all the time but enough that you would notice it. Worth noting the game is good with checkpoints, so never a huge set back.
The game is hard but too many points fells more unfair. Would have been better to make bosses stronger or even normal enemies stronger but only have you fight them on their own or in smaller groups because that is where the game truly is at it's best.
Story is good because it really doesn't gets in the way of the game, are a few moments of walking and talking that plague newer games however they are not in great number and pretty short. Main issue with the story is, it ends with a sequel bait or DLC bait, when it feels like the game could have went on for another 2 hours or so and wrapped that up within it as well.
I do look forward to a follow up because core of the game is great just some poor enemy encounter designs really let it down.
