Either Girard ("The Completionist") is a gullible fool,
I think this might be the case. He's a Youtuber who's been trying to corporatize himself since the very beginning, and he's one of the few who's been very successful at it without falling into the common pitfalls of interpersonal relationships (See: Game Grumps or SuperMega). He's maintained a squeaky clean image seemingly naturally, and has some genuinely good friends considering every single one of them refuses to cave into the ravenous crowds on Twitter and throw him under the bus as a scammer. Instead, they're waiting for his side of the story to come out (again, unlike Game Grumps or SuperMega).
I think this entire debacle may have spawned from him being wise (but also unwise) about handing off the management of certain portions of his business to people he deems more capable of handling them, rather than trying to handle it all himself (and failing, again, like SuperMega and a ton of other Youtube corps). One of the links, in this case, the charity, proved to be weak and got grossly neglected over time, to the point where people started to take notice.
Jirard is honestly lucky that this is his first and seemingly only fuck-up when it comes to being a corporate Youtuber. He's at a point in his career where he's made millions of dollars just from video ads and sponsorships alone, none of the money was withdrawn so no one reasonably suspects him of needing to embezzle money (that's probably worth pennies to him at this point), just gross incompetence. The only part that's gonna really look bad on his reputation is the fact that he fucked up managing a
charity based on his own mother's tragedy vs anything else.
In an ironic, fucked up way, it's kinda funny that Jirard
*forgot* to give money to a
dementia organization.
