Bit of an update: The Completionist Youtube channel had two Youtube Shorts, one for his week and one for last week, both of which were sponsored ads. Those videos are now gone and only in the last couple of hours. So it definitely looks like the sponsors dropped him.

I would like to say that the folks that engage in this rabid shit learned their lesson from the Pro-Jared and Super Mega debacles, but we all know that ain't the case.

So, I guess I finally found something interesting about the Completionist, he did really managed to create a air-tight internet persona.

And I guess he managed to do that by being probably the most boring "good guy" motherfucker in the planet.

I can't say I like Jirad, but I can't say I dislike him either. Oh sure I can point out a lot of stuff that irks me about the man, mostly his basic bitch L.A soy personality, this weird over sentimentalism he sells his videos on (his latest one on his channel is about how Shovel Knight saved his life), and oveall he is just a corpo youtuber with no really stand out anything really, he isn't all that funny, or insightful or anything, his main videos are "here is popular game, here is what it is about, here is what you have to do to complete it, here is how long it takes, here is some zoomer humor, bye".

But even so, I honestly can't muster even a shrug, I just can't give a single shit about this guy.

And yet, that is what is saving his ass right now. No wonder people think AI bots will take over content creation in the future..

I think one mistake he made was taking donations for one very specific thing that's hard to give out money for, as it's not like he can just scroll Givewell or whatever. He needs to actually get in contact with research centers and make agreements, and apparently that did not get done. He's absolutely untrustworthy at this point though, in my opinion he should just hand all the money over to someone tasked with distributing it according to the charity's charter, assuming they even have one. After that he should shut everything down.

That is a really good way of putting it. There is a real ecosystem out there of cringe emotionally undeveloped manchildren that talk about how video games/anime/capeshit saved their life in some way or made them have some revelation. That is the kind of thing that turned me off from Jirard's content, and all the similar video gaming Youtubers, everything has to be some emotional journey or profound talking point. Then they turn it up to 11 on the sappy meter so low iq adults and children think it's dramatic. Bitch you play video games and I just want to know if it's good or not.

Trusting family with the charity while he is the face and name driving it has bitten many a content creators. If this is the case, it's still a fuck up of epic proportions that is going to get the IRS looking at the whole thing hard for the next couple years.

If he or his family is skimming the charity, he's gonna be fucked hard though.

I can believe that it was people in his family that would have been doing any sort of fraud or illegal shit with the funds.

Am I the only one who has always been suspicious of the various 'charity fund raisers' alot of these gamers/speedrunners do? This is obviously much worse than most of those as it appears to be an outright scam, but some of these other charities that others have raised for are shady as hell too, such as 'Prevent Cancer Foundation' GDQ always raises for; their executives take a huge cut right off the top, and then alot of what they do spend on goes toward 'awareness', like the public isn't well aware of cancer.

Any given charity who have family members and open bank accounts where Jirard and his family could withdraw money from foundation account at any given point, instead of dumping said money to nursing homes and geriatric hospitals.

Fuck middlemen, they aren't even needed when someone with good intentions redirects to donate vetted and legitimate organizations that deal with rare neurological diseases, geriatric nursing homes or hospitals directly. Recession is fucking over hospital budgets, nurse wages, cost of equipment then some. Caring for near catatonic dementia patients is cost and care intensive as all hell, least those units need are grifters that pretend to help and divert money from legitimate causes.


I have first hand accounts of what axonal death, Parkinson, Alzheimers, dementia and demyelinating diseases do to people.
