I wonder if any of these clowns have declared themselves avatars of the "Warhammer" Chaos Gods?
"OMG, I am not fat and I do not have to take a shower! I am Nurgle-Kin, and I shall unleash pestilence on those tru scum who doubt me!!!!!!"
I don't know about Nurgle-kin, but Vade is definitely a Great Unclean One. And I'm pretty sure Brad is a Lord of Change.

I think I mentioned this back in the SJW thread, but I'll mention it again. I had a long conversation with one of these people once. I didn't know she was godkin when I first met her; she actually seemed really normal. (Well, normal by pagans on the internet standards, so not actually all that normal, buuut . . . ) Eventually it comes out that she's actually a Minoan goddess, you guys!!! She was so nice I didn't have it in me to disagree with her; she wasn't like these dicks on tumblr. But it was really unusual.

Coincidentally, her boyfriend also just happened to be a Minoan god. I can't help but wonder if in a way the whole godkin thing was some sort of really weird bonding activity for them.

I think she also talked to Lucifer telepathically or something. It was a very strange mix of ideas.

I thought this was going to be about the Fandom surrounding the late Drag Queen Divine. *sigh*

This is fucking insane. Here's the theme for this thread:

I feel some could say it's racist because of the "Niggurath" part sounds similar to a certain word.

That quote by that one person earlier in the thread that Meowthkip posted reminds me of Kefka at the end of FFVI, and especially "Neo Exdeath" from FFV. I'm guessing that's where they got the "I am the void" thing from.

>implying vidya isn't the entertainment of the gods
Seriously though, something I'm wondering that was brought on by the post of @Satan - how many of these "divine otherkin" aren't really successful in "mortal life" (higher education, career, etc)?
All of them. Why do you think they need to weave these elaborate fantasies? For various reasons (ego, laziness, caustic personality, etc) they failed as functioning members of society (if they even tried) so they need this to feel speshul. That, or they were extra-sheltered as kids and now that the time to grow up is fast approaching they realize they're just not prepared for it. One way or another, they've been set up for failure. And they're going to keep setting themselves up for failure if they don't cut the shit.

So it's basically a forum where fanfiction writers come to write the first chapter where they introduce their Mary-Sue, and then they all start role playing?

No, roleplaying involves too much effort.

I imagine they just sit around and whine about how they want to be worshipped and nobody understands their divine being, gawd, shut up mom and dad I'll damn you to hell.

Couldn't help but think of this.

That is my favorite 30 seconds of film, ever. And why Hulk is da bes.

But on topic, this is kind of like the otherkin/transhumanist near miss. Just like transhumanism being an actual futurist concept (albeit one that requires thought and a certain amount of insight), there are more than a few actual spiritual paths that accept, celebrate, and promote the growth of the divinity of man (one of which being classical LaVeyan Satanism, if I recall correctly). But all of them invariably require soul-searching and introspection, which is nowhere near as easy as starting a tumblr and declaring yourself a deity and GOD MOM SHUT UP I'LL TAKE THE TRASH OUT WHEN I'M FINISHED WRITING ABOUT HOW MY SOUL WAS A GALAXY FORGED IN CHAOS UNTIL IT GOT TRAPPED IN THIS STUPID FAMILY

There are religions and traditions that teach one can become an angel or devil after death (like the "New Church" or "Swedenborgianism", and traditional thinking among a lot of people). There are religions that teach one can eventually become a god (like the LDS church). In Buddhism, achieving Nirvana can allow one to obtain a kind of godhood (becoming a Buddha, although I admit my knowledge of Buddhism is lacking).

But very few religions teach that one is actually an individual god already, and without reincarnation (on which a lot of otherkin beliefs are apparently dependent), being something one isn't physically may be hard to believe at best.
