The Elder Scrolls

- 1: For Survival mode, what armor set has the highest possible Warmth rating? Focusing primarily on the Warmth stat, Weight and the actual Armor Rating is stuff that I can handle with perks and such; I always had the most difficulty with Warmth in previous runs, so what do you recommend? I've read that the Skaal armor is best for Warmth; is that true?

2: What melee weapon type do you guys recommend? What weapon type - greatswords, battle axes, knives, maces, etc. - do you guys think best fits a "Champion of Humanity" fighting dragons, undead, genocidal elves, etc.?

3: Was needing a ranged option; do you guys think either Bows or Crossbows are better? Or does it boil down to personal preference?

4: What magic should I be getting? Should I focus on fire, ice, lightning magic? What about enchanting or alchemy? Restoration?

5: Any other tips that you guys might want to share?
  • Heavy armor in general gives you more warmth than light armor or clothes. Yeah, skaal armor is the best against cold. Play Nord.
  • Greatswords. The swing and the range is a must. Just use a Silver Greatsword against vampires, werewolves and undead.
  • Your choice. I prefer crossbows because they hit much harder.
  • I'm sure fire cloak spells gives you imnunity against cold water. More than that, Restoration.
  • mmm... just play safe.

1. Any recommendations for heavy armor? I remember seeing a few recommendations for Orcish armor, of all things; what do you think?

2. Now I'm curious; what about warhammers or battle axes? How do they compare to greatswords? Do you think they'd fit a "Champion of Humanity"?

3. So, I should try and focus on fire spells and healing? Makes sense.

4. What about houses? Any base game, expansion, or even Creation Club houses that I should be keeping an eye out for?

You bet your sweet ass a battle axe fits a Champion of Humanity. Even has an elf wailing in pain:

The Skywind team did a stream for their 2023 progress report.

I just did some skipping around, but a couple of points:

1. Combat looks to be that it's going to be Morrowind's dicerolls, but better animated to differentiate between misses/glances/hits.
2. Magicka will have the full suite, plus spellcrafting.
3. I only clocked on of the presenters as a tranny.
4. At this pace, don't expect a release within five years.

I just don't see the appeal in something like skywind. If I want to play Morrowind, I'll just play Morrowind. Plus, there's no way these devs aren't going to include their gay OCs into the game.
You can't use SexLab to put your farm tools in restraints and buck break them in Morrowind but you can with the Skyrim engine. I had my doubts about all these big mods (Beyond Skyrim, Skywind, Skyblivion) but after seeing how shitty Starfield is and how it's going to be impossible to mod I can assume TES VI: Niggerland is not going to get much modding support which means the tranny modders will keep working on Skyrim mods until they ACK!.

I, for one, am personally excited to see them port Elder Scrolls VI into Skyrim in 20 years.

I'm more excited for Skyblivion than Skywind but not that excited since no doubt it'll lose the cozy charm Oblivion had. Morrowind doesn't have the same level of fundamental issues that plague Oblivion and OpenMW is just about all I could ask for.

I recently started playing Oblivion again for the first time since about 2009 and I have to say I like it a lot more than both Fallout 3 and Skyrim. The jank and insane NPCs make the game very entertaining. I also elected to install Wilburgurs mod to "enhance" the experience a little.

(Look at how happy Sean Bean is. He thinks him and Droopy are going to Weynon Pryory. No cigar Sean, no cigar.)

Oblivion is still my favorite Elder Scrolls entry with Morrowind being second.

I could see the appeal if they got rid of the diceroll combat but Morroblivion also exists and that mod has regular Oblivion combat as far as I know.
