The Elder Scrolls

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
When they released the AE upgrade DLC, I assumed that they were done with this creation club shit. Unfortunately, I was wrong and now my mods are broken.
For the future, right click the game in Steam, properties, updates, and set automatic updates to only when you launch the game. Since if you have mods you are launching SKSE through mod organizer (you should be using mod organizer, vortex is terrible in comparison) the game isn't launching so it never updates.

I'm still on the first AE update since I don't want to have to go through the pain of updating every single SKSE mod.

I'm surprised they're releasing more CC content at all. The Anniversary Edition fucked over anyone actually buying that shit since the upgrade is way way cheaper than buying all the CC mods with V-Bucks was. I guess the idea is "Look at all this epic content you got for 20 dollars! Please buy more!!!"

Weird that the nord follower is voiced since as far as I remember all of the dialogue in the CC was just repurposed generic dialogue. I cannot fathom people actually paying for any of this shit. At absolute best its a bad version of a mod that already exists. The overwhelming majority of it is just $5 memberberries where you find a piece of paper that says "I found the (X cool item you remember from Oblivion/Morrowind/Blades) its in Y cave" and then you go there, kill a big spider, and get a toy to play with for 30 minutes until it becomes outclassed by random loot, resigned to sit on the wall of your $10 CC house.

It is funny that the inevitable fate of CC modders is to be a Starfield contractor and then instantly get sent back to the slop mines.

Is this how you honor the sixth house and the tribe un-mourned? You will never be the Nerevarine. You have no Sunder, you have no Keening, you have no Wraithguard. You are an n'wah outlander twisted by false prophecy and imperial propaganda into a crude mockery of Azura's perfection.

All the "quests" you do could be accomplished by a Khajiit skooma addict. The Blades mock you behind your back. Your Cyr*dillian handler is disgusted and ashamed by you. The guilds of glorious Resdayn mock your corprus infected appearance behind closed doors.

The Ashlanders are repulsed by you. Thousands of of years of failed messiahs have allowed Ashlanders to sniff out frauds with incredible efficiency. Even potential Nerevarines who "pass the trials" look uncanny and unnatural to a true Dark Elf. Your Atmoran bone structure is a dead giveaway.

You will never fulfill the prophecy, you wrench out a fake smile every day but deep inside you feel the depression creeping up like Nirnroot, ready to crush you under the unbearable weight.

Eventually it will be too much to bear - You'll buy a rope, tie a noose, put it around your neck and plunge into cold Oblivion. The Great Houses will find you, relieved that they no longer have to live under the unbearable shame and disappointment. They'll bury you in a grave marked with your birth name and every passerby until the next Kalpa will know that a N*rd is buried there. Your soul will fuel the Ghostfence and all that will remain of your "legacy" is a skeleton that is undeniably an n'wah.

This is your fate. This is what you chose. Reroll a Dunmer.
Could always be worse

Better solution is to change the Skyrim app manifest to read only.

Steam\SteamApps\appmanifest_489830.acf

or

SteamLibrary\SteamApps\appmanifest_489830.acf

Right Click > Properties > Check Read-Only

Any updates will fail with a "Disk Write Error".

Anyone who actually updated able to confirm this? Or is it just the Steam forums being a cesspool of drama per usual.

I had a great Nexus Mods account. I made great mods, spent hundreds of hours on them and all I wanted to do was get my account back after I had a fucking house fire and lost everything.

I gave them tons of evidence that it was my account, and they basically responded with “Sorry, not happening.”

So fuck Nexus Mods. I hope Elianora has a BPD meltdown and throws herself off a building.

A Finn? That's a shame, I normally have good interactions with Finns. Normally pretty pleasant people but I suppose they're exceptions to everything.

BPD is one hell of a drug.
There is also the long standing rumor that Elianora traded sexual favors with the Nexus site owner in order to get a job at Bethesda. You literally have a Zoe Quinn at Five Guys situation over at Nexus. It is no wonder that the modding community there has taken a nose dive.

If they are having problems they can just easily install the Unofficial Skyrim Downgrade Patcher. Allows you to have the mods while bringing the game back to the 1.5.97.0 version.

For over a dozen years, community-made content has expanded The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim with hours upon hours of fresh experiences, from players sharing graphical tweaks or simple weapon packs to even bringing their own original quests and storylines to life.
Annnnnd most of it was fanfic tier trash

I haven't bought a single Bethesda product since the colossal disappointment that was TES IV: Oblivion. As far as Bethesda games are concerned, pirating them is the morally correct thing to do and it is for that reason that I am on the right side of history™. To be honest, everything Bethesda has released since Morrowind has been intellectual goyslop and the only reason to own any of their games (with a legal license to do so or not) is for the mods. I pirated Skyrim years ago and to this day have still not played more than about 2 hours of it, but I HAVE played through the entirety of Enderal, which is a fantastic total conversion built off of Skyrim. In any case, if there ever arrises a time in which a mod I wish to play bends the knee to the Todd and joins as an ally of his dastardly ploy, I shall pirate it as well. I refuse to participate in any transaction that is of financial benefit to Bethesda and by extension to Microsoft.

Divine/Almsivi Intervention is great if you're stuck in a tough area, but its amazing for getting back to civilization quickly. The scrolls are common and the spells are easy to cast. Mark and recall are rarer and harder to cast, but also come in potion form.
Thanks for this, I had been using the boots of blinding speed to try and escape combat like a fucking retard. Guess I really am a N'wah.

If anyone who was playing on version 1.6.640 had the game update on them, all you have to do to downgrade back to the last update to "fix" your mods is run the console on steam (Win + R and then type steam://nav/console) then you copy paste these three into your console

download_depot 489830 489831 3660787314279169352
download_depot 489830 489832 2756691988703496654
download_depot 489830 489833 5291801952219815735

then go to steam\steamapps\content\ and copy/paste the contents of the folders to your main Skyrim directory and replace everything.

Edit: I'd also suggest trying NPCZZs method for blocking updates, as I had mine set to only update on launch through steam and it still forced the update on me, and a lot of people on the skyrim mods reddit are reporting the same for them.

You can resist the blind effects from the boots by either having some amount of resist magicka from racial bonuses or items or casting a resist magicka spell before equipping the boots. An old N'wah trick.

Nobody tell him about restocking ash yams and alchemy. It's a rabbit hole you don't want to go down into.
Last I checked, the bug where you sell merchants quantities of restocking supplies to increase their maximum doesn't work in OpenMW (I assume that's what he's playing).
