>Fallout thread is more popular than Elder Scrolls thread
ES fans are starving for official content to talk about, though imo that's a blessing in disguise. Much as I think modders do what Bethesda can't be bothered or can't constantly do, there's not much to actively talk about until a major mod release drops.
It's absolutely a blessing. I don't really have a lot of interest in Fallout but I can absolutely see why it's more of a happening topic. Fallout has had two (bad) games and a tv show in the last decade, and the discussion surrounding NV is engaging as ever. Oblivion and Skyrim aren't complex games and anyone who has exhaustively played Morrowind at this point has seen everything and talked about everything. If a decade ago Bethesda pivoted and made TES6 instead of FO4 and the final product was on par with FO4, I'd have left the fandom in disgust (I do not buy the cope that Bethesda changed anything about FO4 because of NV).
There are legal adults out there that will voote come November who were kindergarteners when Skyrim came out. They have no concept of what an Elder Scrolls is and Skyrim is that game their dad used to play. In their mind, Fallout is the crappy game Internet Historian made a video about.

Has anyone caught up on ESO? I played it quite a bit a few years ago, but got bored of it. It was fun enough to play, but the stories weren't that interesting.

Has anyone given the Elder scrolls mod for BFME ROWTK a go? seen it whilst trying to scratch that BFME itch.

...took me a second to figure out what you meant, Battle for Middle Earth. Achoo! Oh excuse me. Anyway, The Battle for Tamriel right? Haven't tried it but I hear it's pretty up there in quality.

Ahh, normies. I envy their unrelenting "meh" in the face of what we hold dear and even scorn.

Only good thing in that game and what came out of that game is the Breton Knight, single-handedly carrying people's interest in Bretons as they're starved of interesting lore. Then Bethesda will cock it up yet again and ruin any hype people have for Bretons.

I stumbled around this video on RPG codex and I had to share. The guy spend 90% of the video either talking about gender ideology or seething about Kirkbride writing about problematic topics such sexual attack. It is hilarious
Lol, lmao even. Don't show this guy All-in-All's work. Got the original thread?

Man, i'm trying to play TES: Arena but it feels so off.
  • No Custom Class option.
  • Not even a hint about the racial ability of each race, unlike Daggerfall.
  • No actual Open World (leaving town isn't even explorable more than empty mass and random shit).
  • First dungeon is even harder than Daggerfall's but much shorter if you can find the exit.
  • Magic is more unstable (and their costs) than in Daggerfall.
The only things i liked so far is the Agility (and Luck) attribute being the most broken mechanic in the entire game.
I can't even follow up the radiant quests properly. Daggerfall was so much easy in that part.

>playing Arena
I will always respect it but trying to go back to it is...well, at least you can further appreciate Daggerfall now. Much like the classic MH games, it's a product of its time and should be respected as such, but trying to play it now is going to be difficult.

It is difficult, but i think i'm learning more about the gameplay in the few hours i'm bashing my head into the keyboard to figure it out.
I prefer finishing the Daggerfall playthrought first.

The only good thing about Arena was Passwall. Oh and they messed up the coefficients on Shield so you can basically become unkillable even if you're pretty bad at magic. Just old TES game things.

Like Daggerfall, playing it with a character that can't use magic is, well, you might as well just skip playing the game and repeatedly headbutt some concrete blocks instead.

More like eat concrete blocks. Also, have any of you lads played the CK3 mod Elder Kings 2? Given the shit I've heard from a few CK2 modders trying to mod CK3 I figured it would be buggy and feature-sparse until it's ultimately abandoned like the original one was. But damn, I'm impressed by how much better it is than the first EK, it helps that people are supporting it heavily with mods.

CK3 is better suited to RPG Fantasy over CK2 because it started as a more RPG experience, rather than evolving into one as did CK2. Still can’t wrap my head around the Spells tbh.

You know what, I can agree with that. While I prefer CK2 and its aesthetic, I've had a lot of fun with CK3's gameplay, and some of those mods like Godherja are just fantastic. Godherja spells are more of a pain to use though, EK2 spells is simply:
>Study magic while waiting for mana to fill
>Right click person or yourself
>Choose appropriate spell
>Done
With Godherja I end up hitting myself with nuke spells while my enemies somehow get my buffs, it's really weird. With EK2 I can just do it quickly and easily, the effects are clear as well as the cost.
