I feel like TESVI is going to do more than just homogenize the setting, its going to completely disregard anything players have done in past games either with a timeskip or time related shenanigans so that Bethesda can use the "multiverse" plot gimmick to say that anything is canon.

I honestly never got why they always just dump 700 dozen DLC quests notifications upon install... It's pretty universally hated and I haven't seen one person ever even attempt to defend it. another one of Bethesda's many mysteries.

Its lazy quest design. I can understand the idea behind it being that developers want to get players into the new content fast and easy but don't make it an avalanche of notifications and messages when you start the game.

The whole DLC thing was still pretty new at the time. My guess is that they thought people would just buy them as they came out so they'd get a popup when they loaded their save and they didn't think about it beyond that. Although there's no excuse for them not figuring this out by the time SI launched and especially not games after that.
At the end of the day... it's Bethesda.

Morrowind had both its expansions introduced a lot better. Tribunal doesn't start until the DB attacks you in your sleep, and for Bloodmoon you have to ask about Solstheim, which makes thematic sense since you got plopped on a prison island and would want to know shit.

DB attacks you from the get-go as you start the game - it's stupid. And Bloodmoon rumors dialog option is replacing local rumors for NPC (you can't hear local rumors without a fix). Both implementations were not ideal.
