It is worrying, it could be Woke's inroad to anime, but all it would take is a few bombs before the Japanese went "well, that doesn't work" and stopped doing it, because the main creative forces behind anime are still Japanese and Japan isn't as retarded as the US where people will run something into the ground out of spite ala Marvel Comics.
And really, what on Earth would Woke anime even look like? You want more black characters? Fine, but the guys would still look cool and the girls would still look sexy, it's inherently baked into anime as an aesthetic design that characters have to look cool, there's no way you could ugly them up like western comics, then it would no longer be anime.
That also applies to the storytelling tropes of anime, again, it's not something you could brute force Woke into, how many animes are about characters bettering themselves and training to grow stronger and stronger, how do you marry to that to the mindset of people that give up and let themselves get as fat or ugly as they want to and celebrate mediocrity? It's pure oil and water.
My point is, in order to make anime Woke you would have to literally remove every single that makes anyone care about anime in the first place, even more so than other mediums that go Woke, so it'd be an even bigger way to burn money to the point that I doubt even Sony would want to do it.
I've got to meet Tiffany Grant twice at cons, I made her "say the line" lol ("What are you, stupid?") and I've talked with Mandy Clark online a few times.
