The General Thread

Well, I got 2 major projects and a final done, and only 2 more to go next week- it helps that one of them will be online! The only downside is that I have to work on the second week of December (which is when some finals are still going on) until Thursday, but after that I have a month off!

From earlier tonight during the site issues:

I was outside smoking on my balcony and my view faces a lake. It's been cold af here, so that lake is probably about 10°F if that. I just watched some drunk guy storm down the stairs to the dock, stripping his clothes off while drunkenly screaming about how "I know how you are! I'm not going home with you!" to who I assume was his girlfriend.

Directly after his friend other friends is telling "why are you naked, what are you doing?" While the wasted guy is yelling "I don't want to be here anymore!!" over and over and then swings at his friend, who then pushes him after he misses. Dude falls over and starts trying to jump into the lake and while the wind blocked it out, I assume he was saying something about killing himself because his friend starts screaming about it. He finally let's the guy go and says "Fine, DO IT THEN!" Drunk jumps in and I start wondering if I should call 911 or wait just one more minute and see what happens.

I think the temperature shocked him because he just stood there for like 20 seconds while everyone was silent and then climbed out and didn't say a word while everyone screamed at him to get dressed because he was going to the hospital. It's going to be a weird fucking week if that's the opening act.

One of my new coworkers just took the world's biggest and smelliest shit. To make things worse they didn't shut the door behind them so now the smell is wafting around the floor. It's so bad my boss had to run up to the next floor bathroom to throw up. Hopefully when facilities gets here we can eradicate it because we're all about to follow her

I actually wanted to put that doge on my Galaxy 3DS because it came with that background that was used in some of the memes.

This is why I've practically abandoned TV these days. Heard they already started editing A Charlie Brown Christmas these days to fit in more nonsense.

They usually show Charlie Brown twice a year now, the edited version that airs in a half-hour timeslot and the uncut version in an hour-long timeslot with Charlie Brown's Christmas Tales filling out the rest. The uncut version that ABC shows does have a commercial break inserted into a spot where there wasn't one originally (right after the "I've been kissed by a dog!" bit), which is mildly annoying but not too noticable unless you know that there's not supposed to be a break there.

Less forgivable is the version of Rudolph that CBS has been airing since the mid 00s. "We're a couple of Misfits" has been ruined because the audio and video don't match because the video is taken from a completely different deleted scene and the audio has lots of very noticeable choppy edits.

The R1 DVD release of Muppet Family Christmas is very badly edited because of royalty issues with some of the songs, but the R2 release is mostly unedited save for a very brief forgettable scene that was only present in the first two ABC airings.

I think it went ok. It was one of those set question interviews but at a point the guy just went wildly off spec and started asking a shit load of complex questions about personal capacity and professional ethics. I take that as a good sign.

There's always going to be a challenge in these interviews you may or may not have prepared for. Sometimes that doesn't work in my favor a lot.
