My friend just got perma'd from the only good Just Cause 2 Multiplayer server for saying "ebola."

Like what the fuck, that's the only server people play on and he got perma'd for one word.
 
Fuck, I wanna play Final Fantasy XIII out of morbid curiosity. I saw Spoony's review, I know how bad it is, and for that reason I want to play it.

It is a really pretty game. I went in with no expectations and left with some p. cool battles that make you think on your feet as well as plan ahead, oh and the visuals! <3 It was a really fucking gorgeous hallway of death. The artfag in me adored the settings. If you want a really pretty game

Edit just bought it on steam b/c I had some gaben tokens to burn. Holy crap! 50 gigs.

Any amateur entomologists here? I've found this weird looking grasshopper and I don't know what kind it is. It's grey, skinny and has long antennae and I found it in South Australia. It's late now, but I'll probably post a pic of it tomorrow.
Edit: Here it is. It's roughly 3 cm in length. Roughly.

I had no idea where to post this but here's something fun I learned:

You know how Richard Nixon seemed batshit crazy? Turns out he did that on purpose. It's called the "madmen theory" - he wanted to get the Soviets and North Vietnam to think he was batshit insane and that he'd hit the button without a moment's notice and blow them to kingdom come. There was even an incident where Nixon had some bombers with nukes in them fly close to the Soviet Union to show he meant business, though he didn't want them to actually use them. The Soviets and the North Vietnamese would realize that he's completely irrational and unpredictable, they would have to relent and give into whatever the US wanted. There's historical precedent too - Machiavelli in his Discourses on Livy said it was a wise move to feign madness and there's game theory implications to such a move as well.

He eventually gave it up as it wasn't really convincing the communists.

The game itself is really repetitive and bland in general. Also, the script is...well, not graceful. That aside, battle system, graphics, and music are really great.

Final Fantasy XIII-2, sadly, is a better game overall, and it's still a fucking trainwreck.

I love reading or watching things about Nixon. When I was growing up in the mid 90s, all we knew Nixon as was the butt of a joke, or that weird guy who was president, but stepped down.
