As time goes on I see Kiwi Farms being used more as a resource and will gain more credibility as it popularity grows. (Thought as Kiwi Farms popularity grows there is much more of a chance of misinformation and disinformation.)

Well, my three weeks of solitude are over. The upstairs neighbors are back from winter break along with their music, screaming, and weed smoking. Sounds like they are making up for lost time too.

I fucking hate people.

So last night it sounded like they were repeatedly dropping a bowling ball on the floor while they were partying. After about five minutes of this, the light fixture on my ceiling dislodged from the vibrations and shattered on my floor.

Called the cops who went upstairs and told them to shut the fuck up. Found out some dickhead was dribbling a basketball on the kitchen floor. Also got in contact with the leasing office who told me they sent an email to them saying if the cops get called on them again they're going to get kicked out. Haven't heard a single peep out of them all day. Top lel.

Still, that was pretty annoying to go through, and I hope they either learn their lesson or move out.

I've been watching videos of Scientology members who harass non-Scientologists and ex-Scientologists. You know what they called people all the time who protested them? Nazis.
Therefore- all people on the left who constantly call others Nazis are actually Scientologists.

There's a new professor in my department. I was introduced to him last semester by my adviser and am taking a class with him this semester. It's two weeks into classes, I sit right up front, and he's addressed me by name a couple times.

So I run into him this morning, we have a brief conversation, and at the end he sticks out his hand, introduces himself, and asks for my name.

This picture encapsulates my feelings better than I can describe them in words.

A lot of people truly believe that freedom of expression is something that only applies in the privacy of your own home or inside your own mind.

Noticed a couple international news outlets have covered Japanese hikikomori in the last week or two.

Apparently someone's trying to find a solution...

My pc died on me. I thought it was the power supply, as the mobo’s lights and LED read-out weren’t coming on, but upon installing a new supply, no dice (:_(. I built it three years ago, so of course I can’t just buy a direct replacement because no one is selling it anymore. I just hope my cpu and memory aren’t fried as well. Hate this shit *sigh*

I'm on my third PSU in my four year old build. Had two Corsairs crap out on me (don't ever buy Corsair PSUs, or Corsair anything for that matter) and I think my current Seasonic is on the fritz. The last couple months it's been nearly impossible to start the PC from a complete shut down. Everything will click on, the mobo will post, and then everything will die. A few seconds later it will try to startup again and then die. Repeat ad nauseum until finally the planets align and everything works. 9 time out of 10 this process completely resets all of the BIOS settings to default. Can't imagine it's anything other than the PSU or a screwed up power cable. I'm too lazy to tear everything down to troubleshoot it.

It boots up fine from sleep mode, but my SLI doesn't work without a complete restart for some reason, so every day I have to wake the goddamn thing up and restart it. It doesn't sound like a big deal, but it would be really fucking nice if I could just flick the mouse and not have to deal with that bullshit. *sigh*

That does really suck. I'm still using the PC I bought three years ago and thankfully haven't noticed anything that serious at all, and I've got two monitors running off the video card on a 350 watt PSU.

Have you done the stupid things like making sure the CPU power connector and the mainboard connector are secure? I've known two seperate people forget to plug the CPU power supply IN lol. Also have you tried checking that the fuse in your power cord (if it has one) is still good, or just trying another cord. Last thing I'd suggest, turn the machine on at the wall then using a paperclip manually jump the two contacts on the mobo where the power button connects. There are other things you can do but these would be my main go-to tips in the first instance. Despair not, a mainboard playing dead isn't always dead.

The only power supply connectors on my mobo are the 20+4 eATX main connector, then a 6 pin and 4 pin eATX connectors at the top of the board. There aren’t any one specifically labeled for the CPU (I think the 6 and 4 pins are for it). Tried everything else and no bueno. Thanks anyway, I appreciate any help! As long as there is power to the board, those lights and read out are always on, even with the pc off, so the fact they’re not has me really worried.

Yeah if those lights aren't on it may be a duff mainboard. Check ebay, you'll probably have some luck sourcing an identical one. If you've replaced the PSU that's a good start, mobo fatalities are usually PSU related.

I built this pc 3 years ago, so ASUS no longer makes that model, and no online retailers carry it anymore. I took it in for diagnostics and the tech is pretty sure it's the mobo, I should hear more by Wednesday. If it's the motherboard, I'm totally screwed, because current mobos don't use the same chipset, so I'll have to replace the CPU as well (and most likely the RAM). I've been building my own computers for 16 years and I've never had a board just up and die on me. It was working completely fine and bam!, it just shut down and that was it. It makes me sick that I'm probably going to have to shell out hundreds to get it all working again (:_(
