The title of that thread alone makes me wonder:Sorry to double post, but the Fark thread on this is a pure salt mine:
If the marketing does a bad job at selling the movie, and you decide that based on this marketing, it's not worth your money, AND you have a strong personal attachment to the brand and feel as if even if it were a good movie, you'd have trouble removing your biases far enough to give a proper review, but on the other hand, you're constantly bugged into talking about it, can you really be blamed for saying "thanks, but no thanks"?
I mean, trailers are meant to get me excited to watch a movie, right? If the trailers look like shit, what exactly is meant to drive me there that refusing to follow the herd turns into a faux-pas? The only two laughs I got out of the first trailer weren't even because of the trailer itself - one was the video uploader adding a message to upvote the trailer, and the other I don't even remember.
