The Ghostbusters Thread (Old, New, Animated, Whatever)

Sorry to double post, but the Fark thread on this is a pure salt mine:
The title of that thread alone makes me wonder:

If the marketing does a bad job at selling the movie, and you decide that based on this marketing, it's not worth your money, AND you have a strong personal attachment to the brand and feel as if even if it were a good movie, you'd have trouble removing your biases far enough to give a proper review, but on the other hand, you're constantly bugged into talking about it, can you really be blamed for saying "thanks, but no thanks"?

I mean, trailers are meant to get me excited to watch a movie, right? If the trailers look like shit, what exactly is meant to drive me there that refusing to follow the herd turns into a faux-pas? The only two laughs I got out of the first trailer weren't even because of the trailer itself - one was the video uploader adding a message to upvote the trailer, and the other I don't even remember.

I am still amazed at the retarded uproar about this movie that hasn't even been released yet.

I am a fan of the original Ghostbusters, definitely. It was hilarious. Even if its theme song was stolen from Huey Lewis. He successfully sued over that, btw.

It isn't some kind of holy shrine, though. Seriously, it's more Caddyshack than Casablanca.

I didn't have any opinion about this movie at all before seeing the trailer. The trailer is shit. It's horrible. It is an anti-advertisement telling you not to see the film.

I am totally aware there was an MRA shitstorm about the movie. So what? Those fucking retards will complain about anything, and they previously did the same shit against Fury Road and the Star Wars movies, which went on to make box office records because people do not give a shit about dickless MRAs.

So I am pretty annoyed when if you say everything about this film looks like that it is unwatchable shit that you'd have to be retarded to plunk down dollars to watch, that you must be literally raping women every minute.

No. That ain't the case. It just looks like shit and I don't want to watch it. Get over it, please.

So anyway

This whole thing makes me rage so much....

The video was a calm explanation about why he didn't want to waste money on a movie he doesn't like the look of, and these journalists are flipping their shit and telling him to calm down? Is there really nothing else they could've wrote about that day?

The normies took our memes, they took our favorite films, now they're going in for the kill and going for the fans themselves. little do they know the guy they chose to go after is one of the most chill motherfuckers this side of movie buffs.

It's quite clear now that the supposed Ghostbusters 3 is literally the non animated equivalent of Foodfight, trapped in development hell forever and the resulting product turns out to be rather terrible. Very unfortunate and sad really.
Except Ghost Busters 3 is something people wanted.
Food fight was something nobody except maybe some child who was autistic about food brands.

Honestly, I don't care about the new Ghostbusters. If it isn't funny and bombs then it'll just be forgotten. I'm just looking forward to the internet salt though. When this drops in July we're all going to be called MRAs or SJWs for liking or disliking the movie and it's gun b gewd. It's just the first trailer and already people are being called sexist for not liking it.

Somebody, please tell me that we've reached the apex of this gender war bullshit. I'm so tired of everything being grudge against this & ulterior motive that. Nothing is cool anymore.

Can anybody hazard a guess as to why Kate McKinnon licked her protonpack? Is that just Random Access Humor or does anyone think it'll have context?

You know how people in pirate movies lick knives? It's like that.

Personally, I was glad they never made a 3rd with the original cast. Not every movie needs some cinematic universe with a million sequels/spin-offs.

Too bad since that's exactly what they're doing right now.
