Can you really talk about privilege when you live in motherfucking Japan? It's not a third world country and their vaccination rate isn't that far behind the US. They're around 40% fully vaccinated versus the US's 51% give or take as of right now.

*Actual* underprivileged people don't have time to whine about it on Twitter, or care about your "white supremacist oppressive microaggression language". They're too busy making ends meet and these things are so far in the periphery that most of them don't care at all.

It's disgusting how an entire class of people with *actual real problems* has been hijacked just so you can come off as the good guy on Twitter. Sure, it sounds nice and feels good, but it does not one iota for people and is little more than emotional wankery.

And yes, of course Corona is serious, but the way these people go on about it you get the impression they're talking about the Black Death or something. It's just a complete lack of perspective.

This is what Engels called "false consciousness", which he (and later marxist thinkers) reframed from "the working class don't have time for our silly ideas" to "the working class have been tricked into misunderstanding their oppression and perpetuating the desires of the bourgeois", which lets them sidestep the entire problem. Resistance from the people they're claiming to save is now proof that they need to be saved.

Most of these "Culture War" issues are essentially just that, and the funny part is that both the left and right engage gleefully in it. I don't think it's some sort of nefarious plot though: all these issues are simple and anyone can understand and have an opinion on them. An opinion on a good tax system or long-term economic development: it's much harder not just to form an opinion, but also to actually do something with that. So folks focus on the easy issues.

Yeah, that sounds about right... a bit more involved than 'going to a mental health clinic and filling in some tests/forms'.
If you're in the US, then check out ADHD symptoms in the DSM and pick at least 5 of them when doc asks what's wrong with you. If he's a hardass, go to another one. It's pretty easy to get legal drugs like Adderall or Concerta because there are psychiatrists who know there's no thing such as "ADHD" and that people use meds for performance enhancement but won't care as long as you're not trying to be a smartass or give an impression that you want to get legally high i.e. you're going to get them in trouble.

I'm suprised Japan has the same standards despite their 0 tolerance stance on drug use.

Yeah what a shocker, this bullshit artist wasn't getting enough traction and the Kiwi Farms can't be canceled by an idiot like this, so he's going after a softer target to get his tribute.
Ironically, it seems like Retroarch is probably more cancellable. I could be wrong, but IIRC there seems to be more evidence about Retroarch vs Byuu drama, than the Kiwifarms vs Byuu drama.

Considering there's absolutely no evidence KF even did anything to Byuu any time remotely near to when he "committed suicide," it would be hard for there not to be more, although frankly I think anything RA did to him was probably blowback for him being a complete jackoff.

The thing is that RA is basically the child of Byuu and Squarepusher (he changes his online name a lot, but it was SP when I first knew about him, so that's it for me.)

But the upshot is that RA (or more to the point libretro which is the backbone of RA) is a continued project, Byuu started it...Squarepusher continued it, so there's a bit of rivalry there.

SP can be a spiteful individual and doesn't suffer fools gladly and Byuu IS a big baby...so there you go.

I probably gave him that idea several pages back...hey Hector you nonce, I didn't mean it.

Literally everything on the internet is more cancellable because nowhere else on the internet has such an insane ODD madboy at the helm.

Americans think taking 20 pills a day for self-diagnosed mental illness is health care and think it's oppressive to be denied this.
Americans are just bootlicking cucks who want a man in a white coat to thumbs up their drug abuse. Real men don't fuck around with that ADHD bullshit we just slam a quarter of meth every morning.

Lol, they're angry because they can't pop a boner without bleeding out.

This explains why RetroArch is a pain in the ass to use...
Imagine using retroarch. That thing is more fragile than david's ego, and it's bootleg PSP UI really is terrible.
I'd strongly recommend BizHawk, and especially Duckstation for the PS1 (whose dev was also working with byuu). At least you can also do TAS with bizhawk.
Public apology for what essentially is just some e-drama nobody really cares for.

Do americans really consume over9000 pills even if they are just feeling funny today?
I'm not sure where the 9000 pills number comes from. Anecdotally, I was once familiar with a foreign national who came to the US for his graduate studies. During his time here, he was amazed that Americans - thanks to Big Pharma and the drug lobbies -- would rather take pills to cure what ails them than use natural remedies that could accomplish the same thing without the higher costs and potential side effects associated with the medications.

More on topic, it's something to see that those still bouncing and squeaking seem more interested in the "REE! KF bad, shut it down now!" narrative than they are about Near. It just goes to show that the people they cite as those the site collectively killed are mere pawns to them and not the victims they intially make them out to be with each wave of salty social media posts.

The number of people who get told "you can solve this problem with diet and exercise and reduce your weight" and respond with "just give me the pills" is too damn high in the US.
