update: the hitman fanbase is not happy becuse the devs are padding out the content until the 007 game comes out, but theyre doing it REALLY badly:
1) they put out freelancer early last year and it was actually a big success financially and marketing-wise. they outright said the game got boosted on tiktok and twitch moreso than they expected which led to greater sales, so they promised to add more content down the line
2) theyve added pretty much two new pieces of content since then: The Drop and The Disruptor missions, one of which featured Connor McGregor who made half the fanbase made because he's controversial
3) they got a new pajeet community manager after pretty much all the old employees who put out the roadmaps left post-Freelancer, people were fine with this until the guy went months without communicating with people until he absolutely had to (i would to tbh, because Hitman fans are retarded) but people finally realized what he was doing when he was coming back just to plug his twitch channel. turns out the last game company he was with he did the same thing, he would never communicate with the fanbase and basically used his job to plug his twitch to the people who played the game
4) theyve essentially stopped adding content, but are still keeping up the live service model. so they will have weeks of radio silence until they add new microtransactions for whatever mission has came out, which is essentially just a new suit and reskinned weapons
5) they dont listen to community feedback on patches, only fixing the most recently-complained-about thing and now patches are actively adding bugs without fixing any: last patch only fixed a few typos but added three or four major bugs like deleting the cutscenes to the first mission. Another one people noticed was all glasses have been turned into sunglasses because the new DLC suit they added mustve been a modified version of the clear lense glasses. modders found this out and the thing day one of the patch and fixed it the same day
now do hitman fans deserve this? yea a little, but it's still funny to see a loyal fanbase of whales treated like they havent single-handedly saved the company that wouldve went out of business back in 2017
some sample threads but all of HMF, the reddit and anywhere else where Hitman fans congegrate like Youtube are not happy with the state of the game
