what the fuck is there to leak about a ps3 title. game journalism is retarded
Games journalism is retarded. But there's things to be leaked - the changes. And I can't be the only one who wants to find out how they've altered Joel's saving of Ellie at the end of the game.

There's tons of other things they can alter, subtly - or, realistically, in a ham-fisted way. Lots of moments here and there they can use to change details to try and alter the player's perceptions of the characters. But I'm expecting that part of the ending to be changed somehow. The doctor dying must happen, but my understanding is if the player doesn't kill him, he kills you. So maybe they'll adjust it so Joel isn't doing it in self-defence. Or they'll take out the things you can find that show that the operation most likely wouldn't work anyway, even before thinking about the logistics of manufacturing and spreading a cure in that particular universe. I don't think they can have Abby hiding in a cupboard, watching her father get killed, as that would likely contradict some details in Part 2, but some foreshadowing of Abby's existence seems very likely.

It's possible they won't change anything. It's also possible that they purposely won't change anything and just update the graphics, rather than because they didn't have time to or are too lazy to bother - after all, they've already retconned the story in Part 2, and only alt-right Nazi GamerGate chuds don't like Part 2. But there's a non-zero chance that they do, and I am eager to find out, because any changes are likely to be blatant manipulations to support the new narrative and Current Year.

We've had two horrifically awful video game TV show adaptions this year in Halo and Resident Evil.

I wonder if this will manage to be even worse.
the only way they're gonna one-up it is if they make a worse line than Resident Evil's Zootopia Porn line and it somehow makes an important role in the story, and given how Ellie treats horses in both games... I'm not saying to expect actual bestiality in TLOU HBO, but I'm saying that there is quite the possibility for it to happen.

They'd have to try very hard to top Resident Evil's shitiness, especially if this is supposed to be the game told in TV form. Barring some unforeseen hilarity or desperate ties to the sequel, the worst I can see of this show is being an uninspired retread of a heavily milked game (granted, that's not a good thing as something painfully mediocre won't be as memorable as something profoundly awful).

As painful as Halo was, that at least had some ok action scenes when they happened, so it might end up being the lesser of three evils.

It sounds like you're saying they're "revising" The Last of Us to make Joel less sympathetic to match TLOU: II. Like THIS version is the definitive version in the lore.

Did anyone else notice that Toucan Sam treated Ellie like shit for pretty much the entire game? I watched a let's play recently and despite the story making a massive fucking deal about how totally in love and obsessed with each other they are the nose is either indifferent or outright mean for virtually the entire game.

Druckman has got to have autism or something, he has absolutely no fucking idea how real people act.

I don't know if they are. If they change the plot, though, even just a little, I'm betting it would only be in ways to try and match up more with the sequel, and to try and make Abby more sympathetic. Which, really the only way they can do that is to make Joel less sympathetic.

It doesn't have to become anyone's definitive version of the game - I'd hope it won't be like the Warcraft remaster which apparently overwrote the original game if you still had it, and people will still prefer whichever version they like the best. But they can try and make the new version 'canon', a la the re-releases of the original Star Wars that George Lucas tinkered with.

Pretty much everyone in the game except for the cucked boyfriend & Joel is an unlikable prick, so I'm sure this was done on purpose.

Because, you know, having likeable characters that treat their friends & loved ones well is apparently amateur writing.

So, it's totally accurate to IRL lesbian relationships, then?

lol
There's so many small things wrong with the remake. The opening shot has been changed, the lighting is arguably worse in several places. Sam's shirt is now completely clean after having spent all day running from looters and zombies. They added camera shaking and blood splatter on the camera for some stupid reason.

The clean shirt is something I've noticed with Joel, it's like these people haven't spent decades in an apocalypse.

I'm sure the rendering is better on a technical level, but aesthetically the clothes looked more appropriate in the original & remaster.
