The Last of Us Franchise - Because it's apparently a franchise now. This thread has been double-DMCA’d by Sony Interactive Entertainment.

Was it not reporter that the witcher 3 had a Massive sales boost when the series started airing?
That by all appearences wasn’t an utter shitshow the way most other game shows have been. Haven’t watched season 2, but other than some minor progshit and Nilfgaard’s armor it was entirely servicable.

These changes look like something much more than just higher-poly models and higher-resolution textures.
Probably because of new Mocap footage, they did link an actress in the tweet. And in general, the first part looked much more like Uncharted 1-3, a bit "comic-like".

They made her look like Shmi Skywalker.

How could it get any worse? :stress:

In addition to all of the TLOU1 news, a scene from the HBO TLOU show has also been revealed:

This scene looks very off-putting for some reason.
IMO Pedro Pascal has a very recognizable appearance that doesn't work in every role.

People have said that the same issue applied to the Mandalorian whenever he takes off his helmet.

There are two possibilities here.

The first is that they’ll keep everything the same. It’s a 2013 game though so it looks like a remaster. No point in getting it.

The 2nd is that they’ll try to vilify Joel and make the story cater to TLOU2. Again, no point in getting it.
I see that the two options really are just one.

Nearly everything is kept the same except that the combat is based more on TLOU2, the subdivide command is smashed a few times, and the character models get 2022-ed. Then in this cash grab, new plotlines are inserted and certain scenes changed to retcon Abby into the canon, make her seem justified, and tie it into TLOU2.

I 100% bet that she'll make an appearance in the last scene at the hospital.

They'll have her scream "Father!" whilst cradling his copse....

Almost certainly, given how at the time of release people ultimately were trying to give this shit away faster than unsold copies of Fallout 76.
I can't find it now but some Germanfag posted that an electronics retailer was bundling in copies of TLOU2 with the purchase of a new PS4 controller.

You don't do that if your product is selling well.

I'm betting they're counting sales to retailers and wholesalers, not actual customers.
I honestly don't doubt that it did. We saw this with TLJ as well, remember, a hot turd sequel doesn't really negatively impact the sales of THAT sequel, it hurts the games that come after it. A remake wasn't a bad idea since it's a proven hit and might restore some faith in the franchise, but the real test to how badly TLOU2 hurt Druckman/Naughty Dog will be when whatever next project he's the lead kike of comes out.

He's just not a very intimidating looking guy. Mando's mystique kind of falls apart when he takes off the helmet, which honestly works in-universe. As Joel though I think he's horrendously miscast. Joel is a giant 6' southern man, we only get glimpses of how scary he can be in the game, especially since we're playing as him, but if he was coming after you to intimidate you it'd probably make most people shit their pants. He's a raw, angry, force of nature.

It's why I hate Druckman's subtle deconstruction of giving him sad puppy-dog eyes. He's not dangerous looking anymore, especially not in the remake, he just looks like a sad grandpa.
