The Last of Us Franchise - Because it's apparently a franchise now. This thread has been double-DMCA’d by Sony Interactive Entertainment.

So you also know about the WIP title of TLOU called "Mannkind"

Ellie would've still been the immune girl who tags along with Joel but every man would've been immune, too.

The cordiceps only affected women and Joel would've been a retired police officer with a heart problem that causes you to play as Ellie during said problem.

I honestly thought Druckmann is single and preying on women using his position but apparently he's married and has children.

How the fuck did Tess getting tongued make it into the show?

In old interviews, Druckmann admitted he was a huge Sin City fanboy back in the 90's and Mankind was his take on Hartingann and That Yellow Bastard

Cuckmann might've known knowledge on Frank Miller literature, but he knows nothing about his intelligence.

I am never going to get over how much better the fan made Uncharted film is compared to the turd we got

as much as I like fillion and his "nathan drake" schtick (which is borderline whedonspeak these days), he never really worked for me as nathan drake. maybe because drake still gives off the impression to be physically capable, where fillion usually play the bumbling fool.

drake is based on younger nathan fillion as in the one in firefly which explains the quippy dialogue he has. nowadays fillion is just too old to do a hypothetical live action role for an uncharted movie. if this was 2012 when he was still in his 40s there would be a chance

If the Sonic movie duology is, so far, better than either the games themselves and/or most other blockbuster movies in the modern age, you know you've fucked up.
That is because the Sonic Movies are....actually fun and don't try to be some giant bullshit "Artistic" Rimjob to boost the Directors Ego.

Further evidence Neil didnt do much beyond maybe coming up with the concept but others made TLoU what it actually became.

Because all you need to do is have under some sort of "symbolic" intentional or some pretentious shit like that when sometimes it just is what it looks like. At best someone thought it was "cool" and at worst someone gets a raging erection from it.
It helps having jewish blood tho.

Not that this means much. They may be married but they are single when having certain "activities".

Its crazy to imagine that sonic (and possibly Mario? Idk how the movie will do but tis not looking like a disaster) are the only modern adaptations that arent total trash fires.

Lev's VA, Ian Alexander, apparently wants to reprise the role of Lev, in the HBO TLOU show:

Somehow, that picture looks a lot worse than this one:

Over the years I've made that comparison with Kojima with Druckmann. TLOU1 and the early MGS games were the brainchild of quite a few people. You remove them, give one guy way more say and you get TLOU2 and MGS4 onward.

I can't even determine what this troon mystery meat is.

MGS4 was crazy but it was still a satisfying story (barely a game but still), its flawed but comparing it to TLoU 2 is preposterous.

I do agree Kojima is way overhyped tho, he worked better with the first three games because he had a healthy dose of quality freedom and control.

That's because for at least the Paul WS Mortal Kombat movie, the 94 Street Fighter movie, the Jolie-era Tomb Raider duology, the Angry Birds movie duology, the first Hitman, the first Silent Hill, thew first Doom, Uwe Boll's Postal, both Sonic movie duology and the Castlevania series (and also add in the upcoming Mario movie) are easily best video game movies as the cast and crew of these respective movies have way more creative control and they understood the original game devs, respectively, when doing these movies.

Shit like Legend of Chun-Li, the Max Payne movie, the 2018 Tomb Raider movie, that godawful Assassin's Creed movie, Doom Annihilation and Paramount+ Halo are corporately made bullshit to manipulate fans and audiences and disrespecting the source material. It's like how live-action adaptations to anime almost never works except for either Alita or Wachowskis' Speed Racer.

When I make that comparison, I'm just talking about a giant drop off from the previous game. TLOU2 is in a league of it's own in that regard. I can at least play MGS4 once in a while if I'm bored, but I won't even try TLOU2 for a first time.

Ohh, I see. Yeah. MGS4 is still worth a play/watch at least once to see how it all ends and you have at least give Kojima credit for not milking this series (that is until he did with 5 and Revengence, the former didnt need to exist and the latter should have been a midquel) and giving it a definitive end. At least MGS4's depressing tone had a reason and at least a touching conclusion that contrasted it.

TLoU 2 is a miserable experience to the very end.

These two work because they embrace the absurdity and dont try to make it needlessly realistic. All they need to do is sell that universe to us and keep the characters engaging and lovable and they did a pretty good job.

Which is why Im now depressed again that Alita will never get a sequel *sigh*
the Castlevania series

It was good at first but then it remembered its a netflix product so then it turned to mediocrity at best.

And they will skip my boy Simon Belmont and go straight for Richter...No respect for the true OG Vampire Killer

It could even "redeem" Castlevania 2 by making it the focus and have flashbacks to the events of the first game PTSD styled since there isnt much plot to explore there but there is in 2.

It surprises me that after so many attempts, we havent got a single good RE live action, the first 2 Paul W Anderson movies feel like masterpieces compared to what we got but they still arent there.

MGS4 is depressing but it definitely fits the tone of what Snake's life was in the grand scheme of things. I'm fine with long cutscenes, but it wasn't balanced with gameplay whatsoever. I've come to accept it for what it is and I think the ending is okay. It's convoluted and lazily written, but it's conclusive and shuts the door to sequels with Snake. MGRR is fine and doesn't ruin MGS4. TPP I'll never like. Ever.

TLOU2 is a vanity project by the jew to crucify the Christian character that suddenly becomes Christian in the sequel, and has to die a gory death and be spat on by a character the director modeled after himself. He shit in the fans mouths, and quite a bit want seconds.

I honestly did want a sequel, but the original can be a very close ended game that doesn't need anything further added to it. It could've been the start of the biggest franchise in gaming since Metal Gear funnily enough that's a stealth game with a heavy narrative (although of course that's where the similarity ends) but no. It just had to be the biggest piece of subversive gaming maybe ever. It's one thing to throw a curve at the fans. But then to just piss in the faces of the people that loved the first one and Predator spine rip out the reason people even bought the game.

Comic continuations will never ever be canon especially the retarded "Clem leaves AJ" part.

It´s true that something like the urban scene would never make it through to TV.
Oddly enough, I was going to mention it. Either the joke would be removed at best or it would be done to show Kenny is a white supremacist deep down or something (while in the original it was just Kenny being kind of ignorant and a bit desperate to find a way to get inside the barn. It all probably sounded better in his head and he immediately apologizes. God forbid someone can make a mistake out of ignorance rather than maliciousness).

I legit cant see them writing Kenny as the complex, flawed but very still very human character that he is because it would require talent and the capacity of writing characters as complex, flawed but very human characters. Same goes for many other characters, like Lee and Clem but its these three Im mostly focusing on (Tho Im very sure Christa and Omid would be ruined too). I could go on and on but this is a TLoU thread and it would make this post even longer.

Late as fuck but, i've heard Kenny was originally supposed to be Season's 2 main villain, until he was replaced by Carver, if TTWD ever gets remade either as a TV show or game for newer platforms, they'll probably will go with that idea, either that or make him an unlikeable asshole at best.

The First RE can be okay if seen as a What if instead of the video game characters someone else was caught in the events of the start of the T-Virus outbreak if you squint a bit?

Despite obvious issues Kenny was a good person hell even if Lee and him did not like each other he still make sure to look after Clementine and AJ and in fact allow himself to be eaten to give time for Clementine and Aj to run. I bet they would somehow decides to make Jane the good one instead despite you know EVERYTHING she did, hell if Clementine decides to stay in Wellington Jane finds out she's pregnant and without a single thought for Clementine and AJ kill herself.
Oh... that comic made Clementine a lite version of Jane

They were harsh on most of these movies back in the day because gaming culture was a niche thing. By the 2010s however, gaming culture (and the rest of nerd culture) has become serious business for every single big name company and for social media, which explains why people have been less harsh on most reboots and all.

I'd say the only people who'd unironically liked all six of Paul WS's Resident Evil movies are people on 4chan's /tv/ boards. Sure, people claim that these movies are terrible, but the box-office results don't lie (the same with mostly anything from Adam Sandler or Tyler Perry). I will say the first two and the fifth are so-bad-they're-good material, but everything else is just trash.

I'd still take geriatric Nathan over fucking spiderboy.

I always appreciated how deeply flawed Kenny was but still ultimately a compelling and good character in his own right. Though I also find myself wondering if the Kenny worship doesn't stem from just how horrendously awful the extended cast of Season 2 was. The absolute worst and most obnoxious cast of survivors in any piece of zombie media probably ever made.

Anyway, I'm really pissed they pretty much skipped over the sewers in this version of events. If ever you were going to do filler to show us the lives of a bunch of fucking dead people then they should have done an extended flashback to Ish and the tragic downfall of the sewer survivors. The one thing they could have expanded and shown to some genuinely great effect, but nope, one drawing and more deaf nigger moments.

And they skipped over all of the horrifying imagery the game used. Not using the "they didn't suffer" room is criminal.
