They were winging it for the first three episiodes and somewhat getting by but it's legit become awful now. Actually feels like people cosplaying fan faction of the second game. Even if you hated Part 2, it was at least well executed for the story it was trying to tell. This is just garbage. It's hilariously distracting how the Dina actress is in full makeup for every scene. You could actually see her mascara running every time she was crying this episode. This is apparently somebody who's travelled hundreds of miles on a cross country journey on a revenge mission. That's just one of many ways the show is total shit.

Also the "I'm gonna be a dad" line legit felt like something somebody who hated the second game would write to try and mock it too, but it was delivered completely sincerely. Uck.

New episode was not good and the tonal difference between show and game are beginning to be more obvious. Game Ellie is clearly on edge and emotionally frayed at this point in the narrative which leads to tension between her and Dina. There's none of that emotional depth in the show, for any of the characters. It feels very shallow, and that's the fault of both the writing and the acting.
I don't for a second believe that the Potato is actively seeking to take violent revenge against those who wronged her, it's just a complete non-sell which is largely thanks to the character not really being developed beyond snarky sarcastic lesbian girl boss. It feels like there was zero character growth for Ellie these past few episodes, much less across seasons.

Also, I guess they're not gonna show the synagogue segment? Not particularly surprising since show Dina is very clearly not of Levantine descent, but I half expected to see it crop up just by virtue of Neill being obsessed with the Israeli / Palestinian parallels and the current day political situation.

Neill is a very talented prestige story teller and it is a crime against art to leave his creative vision and masterful narration confined to the medium of video games, it's something that needs to be appreciated by everybody through the far reaching medium of television.

The devs couldn't write a post apocalyptic world in the 2nd game and you expect movie makers who base their TV series on such a game to do a better job? I mean ffs in every postapocalyptic world lesbians and trannies would probably get the bloodeye treatment. Nobody has time for "first world problems" when survival is on the line

Tried to give Bella Ramsey a chance but it's ludicrous watching her try to play a character like Ellie in part 2. You legitimately forget that Joel's even dead, she's so chirpy and upbeat when they're not encountering infected or enemies. The writing is absolutely atrocious too though. Just one example from the last episode is them just about escaping death to then Ellie pleading for her life and then the next second she's fingering Dina on the floor and they're talking about "starting a family" when they're weren't even a couple a few moments before lmao. It's one of the most clumsily handled romances I've ever seen in any medium. Like fan fiction a teenager would write.

Also where the fuck is Abby? She literally hasn't had a single scene in the last two episodes and she's supposed to be the whole reason they're even in Seattle. A more minor but hilarious oversight is Shimmer. Like did they just leave him in that record shop and then apparently not even care or mention it again? lol so stupid.

No, it's two things. She looks zero like Ellie. And she's so ugly that it's distracting. The cure for humanity is this mong lol. I can't imagine a woman carrying a baby for all that time, and THIS is the result.
