Is this game ever coming out?

Not sure where this "PS5 launch title" conspiracy theory is coming from. The game is basically finished, as per Jason Schreier.
Sony has been playing their cards close to their chest when it comes to exclusives for a while. I remember back when God of War's release date and coverage dropped almost out of nowhere. Even then, this game's had a demo, playable by the press.
There are plenty of games that are going to get delayed because of this virus and global lockdown.
If anyone thinks this game is at risking of "flopping" critically or financially, or that Sony has some type of nefarious plan to cover up that the game is terrible or something ... I mean, lol.

Define what you mean by "flopping" critically or financially, I could very easily see this game "underselling sales expectations" or some shit like that at first and then being rescued after a fashion by being a pack-in game for the ps4/ps5(I could very easily see both consoles getting a version of this game) like Horizon Zero Dawn was made a pack-in game for the ps4.

yes, companies tend to postpone releases of 100 metacritic score games because they like money so much
they also constantly release flagship titles in whatever state because that what sells those games, not postpone release and/or crunch hard (something schreier never complained about btw!) to rework the issues that might affect sales. and when you postpone a flagship title indefinitely there is no way a company will ever use it to push their next console launch in the near future, no way.

I got a message on PSN that the preorder had been canceled and my card will be refunded in 1-2 days. That was yesterday.
Canceling preorders implies its not going to be 30 or 60 days late in my opinion. If it was just a short delay into summer I dont think they would blanket refund everyone. As the new release date would have to be announced by may or june. Maybe Sony has a policy of not taking preorders for games with out a release date?
I think with PS5 coming in november it makes sense to release the game in november for both PS4 and PS5 (with improved performance and visuals on PS5).
Meanwhile with that refund coming back and no definitive release date that FF7 remake is starting to look pretty tasty...

Uncharted 4 is free on PSN this month. Is it worth a play through even if I've only played the first one?

As a fan of the trilogy on PS3, no. Uncharted 4 to me demonstrates that Druckmann has no idea how to pace anything that isn't a slow-paced story-driven game. The first three games were summer blockbusters in video game form and they were paced incredibly well (well the first 2 anyway, 3 not so much). 4 on the other hand can never keep a consistently exciting pace. Every time it seems like the game is gonna let loose and go crazy, it immediately slows down again and nothing of substance happens for another hour. It's incredibly dull as a result; it feels like it's afraid to do anything fun for more than 45 minutes at a time. 3 had some pacing issues, but it was never slow. And that slow pace kills any excitement 4 might have had.

I actually think this has the potential to be a historic fuckup. I've never seen a game be delayed to TBA and start issuing refunds without being outright canceled. Things must be really bad behind the scenes.

The first game's story was all about moral ambiguity and shades of grey, the sequel sounds like the exact opposite.
It's weird, I happen to think the first game was a great game, but it was made before western devs started going full retard.
I used to think a Last of Us 2 on PS4 would be nothing short of amazing, now I'm not so sure.

I saw the writing on the wall for years now, and every time I hear another update about the game its yet another Red Flag. First of all, I really enjoyed TLOU1, but as you say, that was right before western devs went full tard. Then came Uncharted 4, a game made by the same director as TLOU1 and now 2, and it was complete garbage. I'll keep it short and say the pacing in that game is bizarrely bad, and the story is uninteresting and already strongly damaged by postmodernism which took hold in the West at that time. Not completely rendered intolerably bad, yet, but damaged. But this simply meant there was no way in Hell I'd even consider getting TLOU2 before I saw the gameplay and writing of it...
So the plot of 2 start trickling in, and it is just completely filled with postmodernism and beyond typical Far-Left interests. You play as Ellie, who is now ugly and of courses don't need no man. (Yes I know 1 did this as well, but if you can't see the immense differences in tone and the fact that she did "need a man," I don't know what to tell you) She has an ugly girlfriend who is front and center kissing in the story trailer. Just rubbing it in, "You better not have a problem with this! You best not even think about disliking this! You best not even consider this scene out of place and stupid to open up a story with! etc etc etc." Do you realize how dumb this is? Imagine the trailer being the same, but its a guy she's kissing. You'd think "why on earth are they showing me this?" and be confused. And of goddamn course the villains are some fucking "Roaming Christian Cult" just searching the wastelands, looking for the gays and lesbians to kill for their amusement.

I don't think I even need to comment on that further.And there is a huge lack of GAMEPLAY showcased for this GAME, and the zombies and the apocalypse isn't even brought up as a story-beat anymore. My God, you wouldn't even know this is a post-apocalyptic zombie infested world if you didn't know the story of the first one! And as it so happens, the gameplay, this setting + a good story is what I was interested in 1. And after Uncharted 4, the delays, the lack of gameplay, the complete shift in focus from moral ambiguity and surviving to fucking 'Christians bad btw', and the brain worms of Far-Leftisism infesting the Lead Director, I could not be any less interested in this game at this point. Beyond seeing just how bad it gets.

I loved Uncharted 4 but it had some problems with SJW stuff that stuck out like a sore thumb, like one of the villains being a "strong" black woman that kicks Nate's ass every time he encounters her and despite being one of the villains never has to suffer any negative consequences, she fucks off out of the story after a point, da fuck was the point of that?
I also read that the old woman young Nate and Sam meet was originally an old man, which makes more sense given the trope of an old British explorer dude but it was arbitrarily changed to a woman because muh fumanuzim.
I was disturbed to learn how much of the game was conceived when Amy Henning was still with the company, meaning I can only assume the things I disliked were thanks to Druckmann, who is front and center for TLOU2.

I got halfway through the first one but I quit because I realized I wasn't having fun. That and I hated Ellie so much. I thought she was really fucking annoying. It got to a point where I just didn't want to continue anymore.
I honestly don't care whether this one is a flop or not. It either does really well or it doesn't. It makes no difference to me. What does interest me is the game getting delayed indefinitely and all pre-orders getting refunded. That right there is a sign something is wrong behind the scenes at Naughty Dog. Even with all this quarantine shit going on, you got games with long development cycles, like Doom Eternal and the FF7 Remake, continuing to ship regardless. And as far as I know, those games are doing just fine, so TLOU 2 getting "delayed" due to Corona sounds more and more like a lame excuse to cover up something else.

The only thing close I can find to mass refunded pre-orders was shit with No Man's Sky. This is the only other incident that comes close to what happened with TLOU2.
It's either gone catastrophically wrong or it's going to be a PS5 exclusive and skip the PS4 entirely. But Sony has not finalized the PS5 design that I know of and that's also been pushed back because they are unable to source parts.

Leaks indicate it's smarmy as fuck with the main villains being a homophobic Christian cult. Maybe they're getting cold feet because of the high profile failure of other sjw games.

They were already in deep shit with that million dollar fake church they built and it's the reason why Sony doesn't do live events anymore.
This could be a real watershed moment if the game bombs.
