The Fireflies were never smart. For as shitty as life is in the post-apoc world, there are communities that get by just fine, whether it be Bandits like in Detroit, or Tommy's group in Colorado. Ellie's comment about the Fireflies in Detroit when she sees the corpses of soldiers lynched, executed, or shot against a wall, she sounds like she's in disbelief. Not to mention life in Boston itself doesn't seem to be the best, what with routine checks for infected, contraband and whatnot, but it seemed stable until the attack on that checkpoint in the prologue. There IS a rather massive fuckoff wall surrounding the quarantine zone.Probably beating a dead horse by now, given that no one that probably thought of it is even in ND anymore, buut...
When Marlene informs Joel that Ellie was to be sacrificed for the "greater good" or something, they point out that Ellie is immune to transforming, but she is still a vector (hence why when she's tested going out of Boston, she's shown positive), and the Cordyceps is grown all 'round her brain and skull cavity.
Wouldn't popping open that piñata expose everyone in the operating room? Those facemasks wouldn't help much (People use gas masks in spore-polluted areas for a reason) and the single sterile place that could "reverse engineer" the cure would instantly be useless.
Fuck, I'm starting to think the Fireflies were a sort of self-insert by now.![]()
Marlene was definitely trying to justify it to herself with all her “what about me” stuff, yeah. Imagine if Abby had been her daughter, people would have even been more pissed. The Fireflies were never smart. So... what did The Fireflies actually do? Bill comments that the military is the only one making new motors now. Makes sense, especially if they have any factories in dry climates like a desert in nevada or some shit where fungus has really poor growing conditions, and every time we see a massive amount of the cordyceps is in dark, dank and wet places, like the sunken subway, or that hotel building. Did they hope to liberate the means of production or something? What was their longterm plan beyond firebombing the military? Whatever martial law that was instated by the powers that be wouldn't support their asses in the least. Resources WILL run out once they cutoff contact with a Firefly liberated zone, AS SEEN IN FUCKING DETROIT. The entire idea of the Fireflies fucking falls apart the moment you start thinking beyond the concept of "freedom for the people", which sounds way to suspiciously similar to socialism.
Not only that, why would they want to kill Joel after he delivers Ellie? It was just a job at first, and Marlene had no way of knowing the bond they built after a full year of traveling. Fuck you don't even meet Marlene until the very end, but the Fireflies under her command made it seem like they wanted to off him the moment he got there. And everything she lost? WE couldn't possibly understand what SHE lost? It all comes across as a selfish, self-aggrandizing and pedantic mess when she doesn't even consider the struggles Joel might have gone through, let alone moaning about Ellie's mother like they were star-crossed lovers or some shit in an easily missed recording inside said hospital.
What a mess.
What’s his point exactly? People pour ungodly amounts of time into dogshit all the time. He even looks like famous pretentious video game man Hideo Kojima. Say what you will of his ability to convey a story, at least he’s fairly prescient re. theme; which is something we clearly can’t say about Cuckmann at this point.View attachment 1261961
What a cute comparison you absolute hack. If the picture you were painting was a direct follow up to a previous one but instead of paint you used blood, shit and vagina juices, then yeah, you’re correct.

You know what other game ends up doing it right also? All this focus on girls and revenge made me think of another game that did it right, Tales of Berseria.

- Revenge Story
- Female Protagonist on a quest for revenge because brother was ritually sacrificed supposedly to stop a plague that turns people into werebeasts
- Also has a young child to protect as a surrogate brother
- Beats up other men and women in the process of the campaign
- Other afflicted and outcasts join her party
- Goes for Edgy but to a tasteful degree, the characters still have depth and nuance
- Every character has a drive in the story that makes sense and isn't obstructed by poor explanations
- Tutorial stage is the prologue and doesn't require hours long investment to understand what the hell is going on
- Big bad throughout the game is a Papist Cult and it's main members that was pulling some big bullshit with the plague
Japan wins again.
You might be right, but its going to suffer from what I call the 'Mass Effect 3' syndrome. Mass Effect 3 was a success and made bank. However, the next game was laughed at, mocked and basically destroyed the studio. Same with Star Wars. The Last Jedi did well, but the brand was permanently fucked after that.
The commercial for Super Mario World showed the final boss (Bowser was rendered with mode 7!) and that didn't hurt sales. These people don't understand what makes videogames good and should not be talking about them at all. Videogames are PLAYED not watched or read like books or movies where spoilers might have more of an impact. Knowing what happens doesn't diminish from the actual part where you play the goddamn game.
That has to be for Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, not the original. The commercial for Super Mario World showed the final boss (Bowser was rendered with mode 7!) and that didn't hurt sales.
Reminds me a lot of another video game "auteur", David Cage. Cage has said in a couple of interviews that players shouldn't ever replay his games. Almost like the GAME part of the VIDEO GAME is constantly an afterthought to these people who think they are the new Scorsese or some shit. The part that gets me is these cucks saying "now that the plot is leaked the devs effort is wasted"

That being said these Naughty Dog games are a pure black hole devoid of any meaningful gameplay so maybe this is a different case...
SJWs seem to think realism is something that is really needed in games, at this rate they'll demand that every game forces you to eat, sleep and shit at regular intervals.
So, I've been thinking about it some more and I don't get why Abby spared Ellie or her girlfriend. Bitch just murdered her way cross-country (assumedly) and Donkey Kong'd them both so bad that you'd assume they were car crash victims. This is someone beyond reasoning and that you're not going to be able to talk down with any number of teenage pregnant lesbians. It probably would have pissed people off even more if Abby responded to Ellie's pleas for mercy with "then it's a twofer" and slit Dina's throat but I guess it would feel more authentic? Honest? Feels like the only reason Ellie and Dina lived at all is because they're main characters. Just cheapens everything even more knowing that the worst either girl gets out of Abby's tard rage is that Joel is dead (which everyone figured would happen anyway the moment it was announced that Ellie was the main character).
It's this. It's entirely to serve the "cycle of revenge" shit that the game keeps banging on about.Or is it that "I MUST HAVE MY REVENGE!" storyline?
Bowser was rendered on the background layer and wasn't a sprite, which is how he was able to be shown rotating and zooming around. It's also why the sky was completely black since it would just look like the sky was moving around which would look weird. This video's got a cool explanation about it https://youtu.be/3FVN_Ze7bzw?t=1011That has to be for Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, not the original.
Yeah, this thread has been the most I've paid attention to Naughty Dog in a while. It's been so boring with just corona chan the past 2 months, this is some high quality entertainment,
Just sit back and get some popcorn!
Time to watch a shitty giant gaming company crumble from not treating their developers fairly, this is gonna be a fun shit show to watch.
Did ash just try to pull "please understand, Naughty dog is a small indie dev"?
All this focus on girls and revenge made me think of another game that did it right, Tales of Berseria.
