Metacritic score still in the pits. Also those silly animations they do of the characters kinda piss me off.

Another reason TLOU2 utterly fail? They wrote it so bad that if Joel and Ellie died before reaching their destination in TLOU none of the bullshit in TLOU2 would happen, way to spit in your customers face Cuckmann

I think I've found a couple of quotes to paraphrase my thoughts on this game
"Having the enemies scream random names when their friends die doesn't make them more sympathetic"
"It's like the deleted scene from austin powers where a random mook dies and it suddenly cuts to a bunch of his friends talking in a positive light about how successful he is before finding out he just died. It's not sad or impactful it's silly and almost parodical"

Will it top the lifetime sales of its predecessor? (Roughly 17-20 million) Only time will tell.

I would think that word-of-mouth is going to cause a considerable slump in sales once word gets out that it's less fun than a snuff film, but I dunno. If Part 3 promised that you get to violently kill Abby, they might see a spike in earnings.

I feel everyone is getting to invested in this game. If it fails, great, it will discourage similar to it. If it succeeds, great, the devs will get their pay plus bonuses for all the effort they put in. Sure it's a buggy mess with a horrible story, but there was clear effort put in to the visuals and world design. There was (maybe a bit too much) thought into the accessiblity menu.
At the end of the day we are here to laugh at the game, not get mad at its successes.

Good for the game. Not for me, but glad people get some enjoyment out of it
Edit: though hope people dont forget how badly ND members got treated atleast. But outside that, if people like the game. Then fine

I think I know the reason for the delay. TLOU1 had multiplayer, and actually a pretty damn good multiplayer mode. I won't go into the detail why, but I can if people wish.
Please go ahead if you haven't done so already. I found the PvP of the first game pleasant if difficult.

"The Last of Us" would make a great anthology title; every game should've just focused on different groups/characters trying to survive. Make references to the other characters in the series loosely (easter eggs or something) and focus on the clickers.
The last of us could work as a anthology series ngl. Someone mentioned a couple pages ago that tlou1 feeps outdated. As a fan of first game, they're right. Tlou 1 came out around the time when the zombie trend was dying down and the generation of the ps3 era was ending. As much as the first game pushed the hardwares limit, it showed its age as yeara went by. Anyway there's a petition to try and have tlou2 story rewritten.

With fans pissed, it shows.

I think it'd be interesting and a possible way out of the hole they've dug if they went in an anthology or episodic direction from here. As much as I hate them when done for the wrong reasons, episodic releases like how the walking dead games did it might be neat. And you could course correct if you fucked up in a big way and people hated it. Or at least little DLC mini campaigns like how Dead Rising 3 or some CRPGs do it. Plus in a small mini campaign you could get away with senseless out of left field deaths a lot easier. A game with multiple different acts of different groups influencing each other Tarantino style is something I'm interested in, which is why I hate that this game mangled the concept. It's also why I hope Deathloop is good, but Arkane got bit by the woke a fair bit with Dishonored 2 and Anita being a consultant. It really is mind blowing that ND did a worse job at the concept than David Cage.

Don't know if this one has been posted before but it blew my sides into orbit. The memes are the only thing keeping my smile and optimism going. They've almost been worth the game being as FUBAR as it is. This really is the game of a generation. A shitshow as funny as this is a true gem.

Dunkle is trying to meme and it’s not going great, judging by the comments.

Sure. Love and respect. Constantly shitting on your fans who bring up legitimate concerns.
On the flipside, should consumers even love and respect Game Devs?
They're here to offer us a service, it's up to us if we wish to purchase it. It's their job. In my jaded and cynical worldview, they're just like the cashier at my local grocery store. Same goes for bands or actors whose work I enjoy. They're here to service me and I'll compensate them for that.
It's not like I go around yelling in apartment complexes "HEY! I BUILT THAT SHIT! LOVE ME!".

Have a chuckle, everybody.
For those not familiar with Puffin Forest, he's one of the more popular (and generally pretty good) DND animated storytime channels. He's quite apolitical in terms of wokeness and the like and I don't think he's ever said a single word about video games in ANY context.

I bring that up only to say, it's absolutely fascinating to see the broad spectrum of people this game has managed to piss off.
