I agree that the Jazz have effectively shown the league that they are not contenders for the next few years. However, I think their trade with the Timberwolves was a smart move. They got rid of an overpaid player in Derrick Favors and gained some much-needed draft picks and young players. In addition, they freed up cap space to sign other free agents in the future. Overall, I think this was a good move for the Jazz long-term.
I agree in the long term it's good for the Jazz, but the narrative that the Jazz flecced the Timbs is ridiculous. Timbs are a late playoff contender now.
