Will it save the Bears, probably not, but the power struggle her brood will get into over the team will be funny.

I’ll swear if she has it in her will that the team is to be sold off I’ll take back some of the terrible things I’ve said about the Bears…
 
Why did some guys look mad when Snoop was makin jokes about them? Fuck, it's an awards show. Have some fun, my guys. Joe Burrow looked like he wanted to go all Will Smith.

Also why does Goodell look like he's been crying? Did FanDuel tell him they were finding it harder to rig the Superbowl this year?

The Steelers operate as a very out of touch, out of date organization. They haven't really evolved with the times and are really starting to show it. The "team culture" that they also love to brag about was decimated with the antics of the Killer B's and hasn't really recovered since then. The only way they will be able to consistently compete again is by modernizing. Which will probably a full executive overhauling and the canning of Tomlin at some point.

With the whole QB situation, it seems like what they are doing right now is trying to find their next Tommy Maddox. Not the guy who will be the guy, but the guy who will be the bridge while you wait to find your next superstar, franchise guy. The problem is it took over twenty years after Bradshaw retired for them to eventually land Roethlisberger. The could easily be looking at a much longer road if they keep on avoiding and pushing off with dealing with the lingering issues at QB.

It goes without saying that they eventually are going to need to have a really lackluster season for them to even be in the draft position needed to do it. Fighting for just barely having a winning record each year is killing them.

They will never give the MVP award to a running back again unless they either actually break the yardage record or break Tomlinson's touchdown record. The fact that they didn't give it to McCaffrey last year despite everyone and their mother literally demanding it is proof that they'll never do it unless something really special is pulled off by a running back.

One of the things that has really hurt the commentary and fandom surrounding the NFL is the obsession with specific stats along with number totals. People can't be recognized anymore unless they have mind-blowing numbers. In light of Surtain winning DPOY, people have been discussing how hard it has been lately for defensive backs to win the award because oftentimes the best DBs aren't actually putting up any statistical numbers because QBs aren't throwing their way. In the last few years it has only been going to pass rushers.

Someone on Reddit was bitching awhile ago about how they don't understand why Lawrence Taylor was so revered because his sack totals don't seem that impressive.

I think it also has to do with the state of the game and the quarterback specifically. You'll hear pundits and talking heads dance around how quarterbacks get calls, how it's so hard on the defense, but this season was the time I remember hearing a player say that quarterbacks aren't football players anymore. Granted it was Hall of Famer Brian Dawkins, so former player, but I don't recall even any of the old pros lamenting on the how the game has changed to say it so plainly.

The past few seasons have seen the narrative of a QB only salary cap get brought up. It seems like anyone who can get a team a wildcard birth gets $50M. Even with the cap going up that's hard to build teams around. There are just too many incompetent GMs and owners that fuck up roster moves and draft picks. You have teams like the Eagles doing salary cap gymnastics with void year bullshit and others like SF building around a guy on their rookie deal. The QB is inarguably the most important player on the field, but they can't do it on their own.

They've always been treated special, but it's getting elevated more every year both on and off the field. Give out a Most Valuable Quarterback Award so the McCafferys and Barkelys can win an MVP when they deserve it. Give QBs their own salary cap. Shit, put fucking flags on them and make them unhittable. Putting QBs in their own little box will surely piss them off, but they're already there. Someone needs to just announce it and label it as such.
 
Dawkins is a man from a different, better, era of football. Under current rules he wouldn't even be allowed on the field unless he agreed to wear one of those Hannibal Lecter style full body restraints. He would still somehow get a sack and a forced fumble.
 
Was watching highlights of Superbowl XXXV this morning. Seeing the utter molestation the Ravens gave the G-Men makes me wonder even more if New York had intercepted radio communications from the Eagles and Vikings in the earlier playoff games.

I know at this point it's only accusations, but it does make you wonder.

No, I'm still not salty about the CC loss, why do you ask?
