This attempt to get in to foreign markets is so pointless. The people of Brazil can't afford to pay NFL prices for tickets when they're not heavily subsidized.
I think it's solely about the merch sales. They can't possibly think foreign soil play is feasible at a more regular schedule during a season.

We're going to have every team playing an international game within a couple years, book it. Goodell was told to make green line go up and he is going to do everything possible to wring out every single nickel for the owners. We're going to have 18 weeks + 2 byes soon as well. They're going to try to figure out how to do all of this before the CBA if they can. Look at how many special games are now played throughout the week during the season. They're going to get football on every night as soon as they can to dominate ratings.

The owners don't give a shit about the product or player safety. They want as many games and as many eyes on those games as possible.

Sorry for missing the Pickem League.

Dak spit first, and I think we might have broke the Chiefs' brains, go birds, back to back.
If the Chiefs lose to the Eagles next week we are going to see a wailing and gnashing of teeth among sports media we haven't seen since...well I guess, February.
Less funny when put that way. Still good though.

It's also about making gridiron football a more popular sport abroad in terms of player recruitment. A big reason the league A) hasn't expanded in more than 20 years, and B) never really developed a solid relationship with any of the spring leagues as a development prospect, is that the American pool of NFL-caliber players is pretty well tapped out, particularly for linemen, and that's getting worse as parents stateside actively steer their kids away from the sport out of safety concerns.
It's a lot more likely for Joe & Jane Schmoe who aren't football fanatics to sign their kid up for soccer/basketball as a youth sport than peewee, because they haven't been inundated with media discussion of CTE for those sports.

They absolutely fucking do! Why else would the league have multiple games a year in London? NFL jerseys are $130 now. How is an average Brazilian going to afford one that isn't a bootleg? Oh, they can't, and the league actively goes after any bootlegger. Middle class Brazilians aren't wasting money on NFL jerseys when their country is one of the most successful soccer countries in the world.

Man, I don't think the league fully understands how quickly fans will burn out on seeing fixed games so frequently without as much downtime in between them.

The league has become pussified with the cries for safety in a gladiator sport.
The changes to how defenses are allowed to defend.
Taunting penalties stripping away players ability to entertain fans when the ball isn't moving.
The refs now trying to be in the spotlight.
A quarter of the game time being consumed by commercials.
LEGALIZED GAMBLING. This is a whole big can of worms that is getting cracked in the NBA. How soon will it be in the NFL? Will the NFL be willing to cover up Lamar Jackson's hypothetical gambling addiction like the MLB did with Ohtani?

The NFL and NBA should be forced to replace league and association with entertainment, since they're just as bad as the WWE now. All the way down to their inability to understand what the fans want.

I give the Ravens owner credit, he pushed back for years refusing to allow one of his home games to be spent in London. Then I think last year they finally forced him to sacrifice one.

I unironically think the NFL should be nationalized at this point, really all the big 4 should, It's not like a government appointed comissioner could do any worse than Gooddell. The greed that is corrupting these quintessential American cultural exports is becoming pretty much impossible to ignore as the product in pretty much all of the major sports leagues declines, and it's not like you can just boycott them or vote with your wallet like other industries (to the extent it's even possible in other industries, I remain skeptical)

Somebody get in Trump's ear that this is the only way he could change the Commanders and Guardians names back.

The literal first game of the Season has been declared The Greatest Game by Tree

I swear every year the NFL shaves more and more sanity away from this man.

I haven't watched it yet, so I'm holding out a slight bit of hope that he's being facetious. It was a solid game, but the hour long thunderstorm delay fucked with both teams and brought the overall game quality down alot.

Not that I have much faith though. I don't really follow him, but his xitter posts that get posted here make it seem like he might be a fag.

Trust me, that's the point of this particular series - the title is entirely facetious.

I just like taking any chance I have to dunk on the Cowboys and Eagles. They're both in my ReSkins division, and I like the schadenfreude.

Tree's typically shitposting on twitter, this is the guy whose initial draw was a "lolcows in sports" series making fun of pretty much every team.
Really I'm bummed this merited a "greatest game", because while it was a surprising game in several ways, it wasn't a glorious failure on anyone's particular part, which typically is what earns them the title.

Throwback post to celebrate the kick off to our 50th season tomorrow. Gramatica maxxing.

So..............I didn't watch the game last night but saw the play that took Worthy out. Am I the only one that thinks Kelce might absolutely hate him and hit him on purpose? There was no reason for him to make any contact really.

Dude is making me wish Burfict would sign for one last ride.

Nah, this is just a mesh gone wrong. Worthy's looking for the ball, I think he just got bumped off his route too much.

First eagles game was such a mess... Dallas lost so that's all I care about, wake me up if we win a superbowl again.

S. Barkley posted his fave Wawa Hoagie, Turkey, LTO spicy mustard and American Cheese. I bet that's gonna sell like hot cakes now.

Vegas odds have Bills as the #2 team and I bet they are gonna walk all over the the Ravens tonight.
